    Interesting results...

Wonder what the poll would have looked like if it was created in October/November 2012.

Their resumes looked a bit different then.

Canelo had no Trout (which wasn't a GREAT win anyways), and no scheduled bout against Floyd.

I would have voted Canelo instead, personally.

JCC jr went on and beat a couple good middleweights after this poll was made.

They both were. If you think about it, JCC Jr actually fought better people in his weight class(well Canelo didn't really fight opponents in his weight class at all except for Trout). Canelo on the other hand only has Trout who was pretty much a hype job as well.

Obviously Canelo is the bigger hype job, the fact that Floyd is fighting a weight drained malnourished hype job is pathetic. At least fight the hype job at his weight class, but hey Floyd fans support it.

Its just an personal opinion. He was more proven then Canelo before they fought but still a hype job.

Chavez jr., what a pot headed bum. Maravilla exposed him for what he is.

The word hypejob gets thrown around way to much here.

Exactly, jr's wins over Zbik and Andy Lee are better than a Trout win, who's best win was a chubby out of his prime Miguel Cotto who doesn't even belong at 154.

It's pretty simple really, Canelo get's a lot of hype while Chavez Jr get's a lot of criticism. Canelo is probably a worse fighter than most of his supporters think (overrated power, poor stamina, low workrate, untested chin, etc.) while Chavez is probably a little better than most of his critics think (granite chin, decent power, size/rehydration advantage, decent stamina). Thus based on their probable hype to reality coefficient I would say Canelo is way more overhyped than Chavez Jr at present.

Chavez Jr has probably faced the tougher opponents as I doubt Canelo goes through Chavez Jr. resume undefeated (Sergio Martinez, Andy Lee, Rubio, Zbik, Carlos MolinaX2); Canelo's biggest challenge so far was against Austin Trout where he won a very close fight, which I personally scored for Trout. Canelo has better fundamentals and better technique, but if they ever faced head to head, it's pretty probable that Chavez Jr. would be able to walk him down and stop him.
