He still doesn't clinch and he still can't fight backing up so I think even though Margarito is quite far in decline I still think he brings problems.

It depends on how Margarito's power is and if he did use plaster in the first fight (Not saying he did) he is taking a huge risk rematching Cotto because if his power has little effect on him then there is alot to talk about and suggest.

But what about Cotto has changed that would make him do better against Pacquiao? He still can't handle pressure, still has no defense, still can't box well enough to stop Pacquiao, so if anything he gets beat worse.

It's pointless, every bit as pointless as the last three fights Pacquiao has taken.

A couple misconceptions here. Cotto can and has fought well when he needed to moving backwards but made a lot of mistakes when he did so. Mainly putting himself on the ropes. He boxed well moving backwards against a very good Mosley, fought well in spots against Margarito moving backwards even off of the ropes(dumb move though) and Ive seen him do the same throughout his career. How does he handle pressure, obviously thats not his strength but that can be dealt with and improved on.

What could be different regarding Pac vs Cotto?

One big difference Cotto would not be training himself thus a superior strategy and preparation would be had.

His right hand seems to much better since the surgery and Steward has him using it more, you have to use your right hand to beat a Southpaw. Also Steward has him using his jab lots more and going after the body with a vengence.

If it happens I think their fight would be at a 150lb catch weight, if it happened, which would be 5 lbs north of their first fight, thats a big factor. Considering Pac would come in at 150 ish fight night.

That's my point though, why would you even want to see this fight? I don't, not the Martinez vs Cotto fight, it's a waste of our time and could be dangerous for Cotto's future.

Marg would be more competitive because we don't know which version of Marg we might see. He's lost a lot as well and I don't want to see him fight much longer either.

You should both know by now styles and experience make fights. You completely writing Cotto off against Martinez is dumb, I agree that Cotto would be an underdog in this fight but he would also be one of the most skilled opponents that MArtinez would ever face.. But its not out of the realm of possibilities that Cotto beats him if they do they fight.

If he wins I'd like to see him get another crack at Pacman. But 1st I want him to paddle up on Margarito.Who hasn't seemed the same after the shocking discovery of where his might came from was revealed.

My point exactly. I wouldn't count Cotto out, regardless of the odds. I'd like to see him take the challenge; assuming he gets past Marg...

Heart and will can win you fights, but once your body starts to go that's when you have to rely on your skill. Cotto and Marg haven't been the same since that fight, but Cotto has more left in the tank and he's also the better fighter. I'm going with Cotto by TKO in 10 as I don't think Marg's eye is going to hold up, jab and left hook are going to just demolish it, but IF it does hold up Cotto wins a wide decision 9-3 or 10-2.
