A. Pac wants to fight in a court room not a boxing ring.
B. Pac has yet to sign anything stating he will in fact do full random blood tests. Talking is irreverent in a business. Boxing is a business. In a business you sign not talk. Pac wouldn't even test vs Mosley.
C. Ortiz is a WW champion, a southpaw at that.
D. No matter who he picked people complain. Check my sig. Its been going on for years player.
E. Welcome to boxing.... I always like to see new fans join the wonderful sport....Comment

Pac fans are just flip flopping as usual. Floyd trumps Arum and Pac yet again. We had to read, hear and watch Pac crappy fights for 2 years and now Floyd comes out the gate and picks a young champion who finally found out that WW is good for him. Beat an undefeated champion and won his belt the right way. Ortiz earned his shot no matter what Pac fans say or think. Fact of the matter is that Pac was supposed to be fighting Ortiz next to unify the titles but he chose the light weight JMM. That was strictly a money decision. Pac hasn't fought a fighter that has looked good or coming off a dominate win in YEARS! (with exception to JMM but made him move up to 144) the fact that Floyd comes back after 16 months and fights the new WBC WW champion in Victor Ortiz while Manny skipped over him just shows Manny's intentions as the supposedly P4P best. Arum is about the benji's and he has been using Pac's name to get it.
He has no intentions whatsoever to see Pac lose and that's why Manny's opponents has either been slower, at catchweights, old or not looking dominate prior to fighting Pac. It's easy for Pac to look domninate against guys that are clearly not on the same level tenacity or skill wise. Mosley did it for me and frankly Clottey and Shane could have put up a much better fight but it looked like those were set ups (just my opinion though). Pac is in it for the money more than anyone else. Floyd made, and is going to continue to make Pac look foolish. Everyone already knows Pac's choices of opponents are mediocre for a fighter of his caliber and Floyd picking Ortiz, just shed light on that even more. I don't think Pac/Floyd happens because Arum doesn't want to lose to Floyd.Last edited by GRUSTLER; 06-09-2011, 09:04 PM.Comment

Ridiculous.Lol. Whatever dude. You picked this guy because he's a vulnerable non elite fighter who just happened to win a belt against a soft prospect that was overpaid and overhyped by HBO.
Does anybody remember when Victor Ortiz was backing up against a feather fisted Lamont Peterson who Timothy Bradley dominated? That's not to mention the quit job against a tough, but one dimensional guy who an old Erik Morales came a lot closer to beating.
Ortiz is a welter, and has been for years.
He is a completely different fighter now, and much stronger at 147.
And it is also ridiculous to mention Maidana. Clearly Ortiz has exorcised his demons, as the writer of the article went to great lengths to point out.
Sorry, but I cant take either of those situations seriously because neither are relevant. The situation has changed, Maidana dont want NONE of Ortiz, and Peterson would get KTFO at 147.
Immediately after the Berto fight somebody commented that Pac should fight Ortiz. I laughed my head off and categorically stated that Manny would NEVER fight an opponent like Vic. Ortiz is the polar-opposite to Manny's last 7 opponents..... he is young, fast, strong, skilled, prime, hungry, and right on top of his game..... and Pac simply doesnt fight those guys.
Victor Ortiz is the third best welter on the planet, and CLEARLY the most qualified opponent for both Mayweather and Pacquiao. To criticise him as an opponent at welter, is simply absurd.
I am not surprised at all that Mayweather fought him when Pac would not.Comment

Exactly, sorry Iceta but I completely disagree with you on that point.
Ortiz is a better opponent than ALL of Manny's last 7 " victims ".Comment

This " expert " thinks that Ortiz is a class-Z fighter, and an amateurchicken floyd picking a class Z fighter or an amateur boxer than picking those big names or face the pound for pound king manny pacquiao. chicken floyd really knows that he has no chance beating manny pacquiao, now for his come back he fought a worthless fighter. chicken floyd simply prove that he is really afraid of manny pacquiao.... no doubt about that.

How is JMM a solid foe when he gets knocked down multiple times in a lot of his fights???? KILL YOURSELF!!Comment

First off, Ortiz is not an amateur fighter, I'm simply implying he's not at the level of what I consider "elite." He's close, but not quite there yet and that's why I'm not really satisfied with this match up. It's an interesting fight, but I wouldn't consider it to add much weight to Floyd's legacy.
Why isn't he fighting Pacquiao? Well, he's been on vacation, and I don't blame him taking a tune up before he takes on his equal, if it ever happens. And whether he fights Pacquiao or not, Floyd is a class A fighter. Whoever doesn't believe that doesn't know **** about boxing.Comment
