I like Kirkland but that was b*ll****, in most gyms once a guy is out on his feet like that they swap out for a fresh sparring partner. Maybe they feed that guy to Kirkland to help him get his confidence back. I would have been more impressed if he decided to work on slipping punches once he had the guy out on his feet.

The man is trained to be a killer, he needs to embody and enforce his will in everything he does, even in sparring - in order to make sure it comes out full force in real competition as well.

As far as do i box? Yes, I have and still do.

Thats me on the end.. Schulers Gym. Train with Chambers and Cunningham. Spent a good deal of time at Harrowgate with the likes of Danny Garcia and now I'm at kingsessing.

I repeat. Kirk did exactly what he is trained to do. Thats exaclty how we spar here in philly. All the glove touching and respect ****, after the work. We're not in there to make friends. You train the way you fight. It's that simple. Anne Wolfe is old school, thats how she wants her fighter to work and thats what he does. There is no referee during sparring. There are two trainers. 1 trainer may have his guy treating sparring like it's a playground, the other might have his guy treating sparring like it's a battlefield. When you're in there working, you need to work hard.. or else you'll get caught slipping.
        ur cold blooded homie.

you sure we aint cousins? lol

Hitting that dude while he was trying to touch gloves was a ***** move, but excusable. 25-30 unanswered punches at the end was uncalled for. Valero was a beast in and out of the ring, but even he knew when to say when.

              This has peaked my interest...

I could have sworen I saw something about Ann wanting to train him again after the KO. I could be wrong though.
Yea, he has been back with Ann for a month or two.

I don't say this in a racist way, but he fights like a white boy. No rhythm at all. He has a very short window to do anything in this sport.
                not racist at all

**** that glove touching and respect ****. When the bell rings, do your thing. I've always been told, no touching gloves, no talking, no nodding, no nothing. You hug, kiss, shake hands, pat each other on the ass, do whatever AFTER the work is done.

Kirk did what he is trained to do. REspect no one, be a killer. This is the hurt business, that Shane Mosley glove touch after every clinch has no place in the ring.
its sparring. The only reason he did that was cause he was embaressed he swung and miss and fell then got chewed out.

Or because he was taught to never touch gloves, and teach whoever is in teh ring with him the same thing.

I'm told everytime before i spar, if the guy tries to touch my gloves - hit'em. Let him know we mean business from the gate, no respect.

Thats cool. Its not my style I think of sparring as practice, I'm not there to body bag my guy just to work on my own technique.

I wont tap gloves every ten seconds, but if something dumb like me throwing a ridiculous haymaker and missing then falling on the floor and the guy puts his gloves out to make light of the situation I wouldnt respond by popping him twice.

                      To each his own though.,
