Cotto is'nt what he used to be and him moving up it might be more even than people think. Who else is Cotto going to fight? Chavez jr better hand his belt over to Martinez. Rubio will KO Chavez aswell. ********* has Chavez jr ranked #13 in the MW division with Jacobs and Lemieux ranked behind him. If you ask me he would'nt beat either one of those guys. So really he should be ranked #15 by *********. But somehow he's the top guy in the WBC?

Chavez jr, just put up 1.5 million viewers on HBO, we know Cotto puts viewers on HBO, make the bloody fight happen. Why risk Cotto losing, or Chavez jr losing? Remember what happened to Lopez/Gamboa The Fight is hot now! Make it happen.

Im a Cotto fan and a Fight fan, i wanna see my boy tested with guys like Margarito again plus we know style wise they (Margs and Migs) make for a great fight
The fight is hot because all of the Chavez jr fans want to see it. And he has a lot of fans. Not to mention Cotto has a lot of fans. HBO numbers show that since 2007 the two biggest HBO non PPV fights have been Jr/Zbik, and Cotto/Foreman. The fight is hot now. No other fight for Cotto would generate a lot of money unless its against Alvarez, Mayweather or Pacquiao. And since Pac and May are tied to fights, and Alvarez is with GB, the easiest fight to make should be jr.

Fair points on the finacial side tho mate.
Id have preffered Tony be banned for life, didnt happen,
Id have preffered Tony be shunned by all the big names and never make any real paper again but Pac threw him a life line and a big money fight and now he's relevant. He's gonna fight again and will be making good money so im thinking let Cotto try for redemption and end that cheating ****s career
Margs isnt the same but boy he's still tough and his style isnt what Cotto likes plus Miguel has lost a step, people make this a close run thing...
I got Cotto tho

Right now the latino market is the biggest in boxing. This is why when there is a highly regarded mexican prospect he is protected to no end, because they know they can suck the market dry. e.g. Canelo Alvarez, Chavez jr, Ortiz (prior to Maidana he was going to be the next Oscar) Angulo, (before Cintron) etc.
I agree, that Margarito would still be tough for Cotto, which is why I would not want to see it. I don't want to see Margs fight and actually have a chance to win.Last edited by JJRod; 06-09-2011, 09:20 AM.
