We know Ortiz is young and strong.

What does beating Ortiz do for Mayweather's legacy?

Is it enough to put Mayweather back in the p4p#1 spot?

Is it enough to increase his ATG rankings?

What boxing followers want to know is what does this fight do for Mayweather?
If he loses(which he won't) it would stain his legacy.
If he wins (which he will) it would only be another wbc title to add to his collection.

The Pacquiao fight is for all the marbles.

        No he doesn't.
Did Pac or Martinez beat Mayweather to get their ranking?

All Mayweather has to do is dominate Ortiz and he would be right back at the top.

In that case Pacquiao should have to fight Martinez to keep his #1 ranking.
        Is that gonna happen? No
So how can Martinez move up to #1? Pacquiao won't give him a shot unless he weighs in at 147-150?

        P4P is just an opinion.

So how does Martinez get to #1 without fighting a guy who won't give him a shot unless he weighs in at 147-150?

Want to bet that the Ring don't have Mayweather ranked the no.1 p4p after the Ortiz fight.

              Ring?
              What about the fans rankings?

I don't listen to ESPN, yahoo, etc rankings.
I rank guys with my own eyes, and mind.
I rank guys by what they do in the ring and against who.

#1 Pacquiao( been active but he better fight someone in their prime next)
#2 Martinez (did great things lately)
#3 Mayweather( would be #1 but been on vacation fot 16 months)
#4 Gamboa (he is a good little fighter)
              #5 Donaire (good fighter)
#6 Ward (on his way to winning the super 6)
#7 Hopkins (old man keeps winning)
#8 V. Klitschko (dominating the heavyweights)
#9 W. Klitschko (like his brother dominating the heavyweights)
#10 Khan (would have been bradley here but he ducked khan)

Well Ortiz is a young, hungry boxer. I'm sure he will put up a good fight. Of course Mayweather has fought far greater names, so Ortiz doesn't do much for his legacy right now. Everyone knows Floyd should fight Pac next. Possibly Martinez but he would be less attractive and just as hard.

Mayweather has yet to step up and I doubt he ever will.

It will add to his list of solid wins.

How about a poll on here after the fight open for 7 days.
