That's the way I see it, I'm not knocking Ortiz but he isn't quiet ready to step in with Floyd... I don't care if Floyd took a 5 year layoff and took this fight he'd still pick Victor apart sorry...

However, Ortiz can very easily be discouraged by Floyd. Ortiz is very inconsistent one day he looks like an elite fighter(Berto) then the next he looks like meh(Peterson)

Ortiz has the tools, but you need more than just tools to beat Floyd. You need intangibles and I don't think Ortiz has any. showing it and doing it against Berto is one thing, showing it and doing it against Floyd it's a whole different level.

If Ortiz has proven to be mentally strong on a consistent basis then I would give him a hell of a chance. But, he hasn't proven that yet.
You think Pac can do it? He couldn't even fight Mosley? You think a slick counter puncher like Floyd who has a connect rate higher than most phone providers wont stink up the place like Mosley did?

Mayweather will make it a boring chess match while Pac will be attempting to play checkers. Two different games on two completely different levels. Pac couldn't handle Mosley not fighting, just think of what Floyd does but actually throws and lands while making Pac miss when he does actually throw a punch.

Although Maybe Floyd has lost a step in the 16 months. We will see and what better way to see it than vs a southpaw champion at WW who fought Berto at 160 (fight night).

I see it as a wide unanimous decision for mayweather too but I give mad respect to mayweather for taking this fight...Cotto and pacquiao are the other two big draws in the sport and they probably would never take this fight because of money!!!

Suuuuure, that's why Martinez loves Floyd's style and thinks Floyd would be a bigger challenge than the guy in your sig.

on topic: good mentality to have.... too bad he will lose anyways.

Both Berto and Ortiz have flaws but they are also big, strong, fast, young welters. Ortiz fought fire with fire and won. I'm not so sure Floyd can do the same and it'll be pretty rough in the early going. It's been sixteen months. He is 34. It catches up with you at some point, usually when no one is suspecting it.
I guess Collazo would give Floyd problems to because he beat Berto first in my eyes.

Being strong, fast, and young doesn't win you fights.
                      Skills..................win fights

And skill wise Ortiz is out of his league in this fight.
The version that beat Berto is the same version that fought Maidana.
                      Only bigger.

Beating Berto is not that impressive to me.
Here is a guy(berto) that fought bums and has suspect chin and no defence.
Collazo did some damage to Berto to, and Ortiz used Collazo's blueprint to beat Berto.

Guess I'm out of my mind..............
