Marquez is the tougher opponent,if i were to pick between marquez vs ortiz,marquez rips him to shreds.

one win vs a protected nobody in berto does not make ortiz good all of a sudden.

Floyds old ploy of this is tune ups,is b/s,this is just another fight in his usual timescale of fights,he never plans to fight a live and able pac.

pac will agree to everything,floyd will say no,pac will prob. retire,then floyd will call pac out months into pacs retirement,just to make himself look good.

Floyd Mayweather Jr trumps Manny Pacquiao again. First with Mosley in 09 and now with Ortiz in 11. Both fighters coming off impressive wins while Pac fought around them. This is a check mate. Everybody basically crusified Manny for the Mosley fight and now Floyd is back to take on the now highly regarded Victor Ortiz. Pac should be ashamed that he went for JMM instead of Vic like he should be for not fighting Mosley, when Shane was #1. Funny when people say Floyd is scared of or ducking Manny, when Manny is scared to fight the guys that are winning and looking impressive while doing it. Pac is the real one only fighting for the money and he still ain't making more than Floyd. I used to like Pac but after JMM (I love the Hatton KO though) he hasn't been up for any challenges.

FYI!!! Ortiz was just a sparring partner for Pac for the Diaz Fight! Pac dont need to fight Ortiz coz Pac already schooled him long time ago! In short Floyd just fight Pac's punching Bag!

I sort of agree with Roger. Of course Ortiz isn't a better fighter than Manny, because his accomplishments in the ring fall far short to his. But I have no doubt Ortiz is a tougher fight for Floyd than Pacquiao would be. He's technically and defensively sound, something Manny can't boast. I've always thought Floyd would badly outclass Manny, but Ortiz has a great shot at taking Floyd's 0.

no offense you guys but i just do not understand boxing fans(atleast some of you).. this entire place and the boxing community were telling ortiz to get out of the sport after maidana and the peterson draw(peterson won that btw) and a suprise win over unproven but decently skilled berto makes this guy potenially more dangerous and better than Pac? wow just wow, without mayweather or pac ortiz will not last that long anyways.. no one would even givbe the guy a chance at khan, bradley or devon just a few months ago 7 pounds south

dude your delusional, the only way PBF trumps manny pacquiao is if he actually fights manny pacquiao and beats him...dont change history floyd ducked good - great fighters at welterweight and now he comes back after manny signs to fight ortiz lolz coincidence again...just like when manny fought hatton...your boy is shooked and can only unretire and fight opponents when manny is preoccupied...only dumb people wouldnt recognize this as it really is......no way in hell a fight with an unproven ortiz who beat an unproven berto is better than what manny has achieved...

Hollywood, California - Sitting in the hot-box that is his dressing room at the Wild Card, with about 15 reporters jammed into it, WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao was asked if he would like to tangle with Victor Ortiz, the new WBC champ.

"I don't know," he said. "He's a nice guy, also. And I like his attitude, he's humble person. I like a fighter like that."

Pacquiao was asked if he remembers the sparring session against Ortiz, which took place when Pacquiao was preparing to challenge lightweight champion David Diaz in June 2008 in Las Vegas; Pacquiao won via 9th-round technical knockout.

"Yeah," he said, laughing slightly and raising his eyebrows as if to suggest it was a rough one. "I was 135 fighting with David Diaz. It was good, he's strong. That's why I picked him to win the fight (against Andre Berto). I talked to Ortiz before the fight and gave him some advice that he can use for the fight."

One reporter wanted to know if Pacquiao was at all astonished that Ortiz went after Berto so early, decking him in the first round.

"I'm not surprised because, you know, I sparred with Ortiz and I know he's strong and has power."

Doesn't sound like Pac schooled Ortiz to me.
