  • [QUOTE=Deedubbzz07;10657586]Floyd Mayweather Jr. announced to his 1.2 million followers on Twitter that he plans to return on September 17th to challenge the new WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz of California. Ortiz recently won the title from previously undefeated Andre Berto. The fight between Ortiz and Mayweather had been rumored for weeks, although both camps continued to deny the negotiations.

      it is a bs fight

mayweather is fighting maidanas left over
Ortiz didn't 'escape' with a draw.

      Stop saying that.

If any Ortiz should have won.

      • Mayweather is very smart at cherry picking. Obviously there is a disadvantage or weakness in each.

Hatton at 147, when Collazo nearly knocked him out and got a UD.

JMM at 147. But used the word P4P number 2.

Mosely after 1 year and 3 months lay off. Already lost to a few and Marg was amde for him.

Ortiz lost to Maidana and lost rounds VS pETRSON WHO ISN'T THAT GOOD. Berto isn't good, and we all knew that anyway.

He is a clever cherry picker indeed.

Nah he would handle that version of Margarito. And, Ortiz could carry 150 quite well. Now if we were talking about 2003-2008 version of Margarito than yes. That version of Marg would destroy Ortiz. But, this version of Marg that Pac fought, Ortiz would beat.

Clottey is a natural loser. He will find a way to lose to Ortiz. Victor will beat Clottey clearly.

And, yep Ortiz beats JMM and Mosley. I agree.

Actually the timing is just about right for this fight.

Ortiz is at his prime. He's not going to get any better.

And, timing is what makes Ortiz>>>>Mosley, Marg, Clottey and JMM. So thank you for finally seeing it.

            • This is an interesting fight. Maybe Floyd thinks he's cherrypicking again, but he's in for a big surprise on fight night.

If Mayweather is a cherry picker than what would you call what Manny was/is doing? Catchweight title fights. Fighters coming off losses, lackluster wins or draws. Having fighters move up to fight him. What do you call them moves? I'm waiting.

That's when the Boxing World gets dealt with the news, Pacquiao will never get his chance to knockout Floyd, because Ortiz will get there first. Floyd has guessed wrong picking Ortiz, not to mention on Mexico Independence Day, and will catch a very motivated Ortiz, who will knock Floyd Mayweather out. Place your bets in Vegas. Just as we read about Iran Barkley shocking the world knocking out Tommy Hearns, Victor Ortiz will shock the world knocking out Floyd Mayweather. Then what a showdown to be staged between Ortiz and Pacquiao! With Maidana waiting in the wings. Mayweather & Co. will unravel like Mike Tyson returning from Japan.
lol its ur opinion but ortiz was 161 on fight night vs berto so hes not smaller

He is not in the level of Marg, Clottey yet. Its too soon, and he can be better if he is not rushed. Forget about Pac, Cotto, and Floyd, he is never goin to reach that level..
