Sergio is getting a lot of credit for beating Williams, but he was always stylish enough to beat PW's straight foreward offence/defence. PW suffers from a lack of tortional agility seen in extremely tall, or fat people, though regular looking people can have it too.
What one man can create, another man can discover. Margarito beat Martinez at a smaller weight, so it's not such a sure thing that Sergio can man handle Jr. at a much bigger weight, and from a historical point of view, Martinez knows how to lose, he's done it twice This is not an easy payday.

steroigio martinez closed his eyes, prayed to God, and accidentally hit Paul Williams n now he's the P4P QUEEN.

all he has 2 do is take the test and JR will gladly make him #44.

sounds like a tune up for Martinez, and a nightmare for Chavez Jr. I doubt the fight happens, as urrrything seems to point towards Chavez facing Cotto. Arum's comments have uuuready insinuated that it's not happening, thus Martinez is out of luck. Chavez gets destroyed by Martinez.

I'd rather watch Cotto vs. Chavez, that's a guaranteed war!!! why is Maravilla calling out Jr.? People already knows that he will just beat the **** out of Jr. Serg should really move-up or be a bum, he is the already the best at 157 lbs and under, with or w/o the belt!

Despite the fact that it's logical and reasonable to want the fight, Top Rank will not under any circumstances fight him. The excuses will never end, likely they will accuse Sergio of pricing himself out, not being a draw or even being too good. All will work being that Top Rank fans have no interest in seeing a fair fight for any reason.

I cannot put too much credence in your analysis.

Forget the Margarito loss, Maravilla was a green kid, that fight/opponent/situation/result have absolutely no bearing on the situation today..... that is literally like comparing Manny's loss to Torrecampo.

You are as good as your last fight, and based on both recent outings, Chavez aint ready for Martinez, and may never be.

Props to Jnr for wanting to fight the best, but he will get what he asked for.

Pirog/Chavez could be a great fight for both of those guys at this stage.

Margarito was just as green when they fought so (who later became champ) so comparing that loss to Manny v Torrecampo is a bad comparison. Why didn't Martinez DEMAND a rematch later in his career?

JCC Jr will fight Martinez. He knows that he not only has his own legacy to worry about but his father's also considering he is carrying on his father's name.
