Boxing is a competition the only goal in a competition is to WIN. That is it winning is what matters the most. If you have to stink out the joint to win then so be it. If you can win and look good and be so called "exciting" then great.
The "run-n-shoot" offense in the NFL was exciting but didn't win **** and guess what nobody runs that offense in the NFL.
The coach of Knicks uses a run-n-gun style of offense his motto is "7 seconds or less" guess what he got fired from the Suns cause you can't win a championship that **** and will get fired from the Knicks.
Yes they are exciting but the name of the game is winning!!!!! LLS at anybody thinking being exciting is more important than winning!!! I'll take winning and what some consider boring all day everyday and twice on Sunday over being exciting and losing or being exciting and taking more punishment than I have to.

Ward is getting way overrated in this forum. Ward is a very good fighter, dull as hell but well skilled and effective, but there seems to be a race thing going on here and its the usual suspects doing it. People need to put that **** to one side and acknowledge Froch as a tremendous, courageous and effective fighter, because if they dont then they just take away from Ward's 'foregone conclusion' of a victory.
These guys are in the final for a reason, they are the best. Give both respect in equal measure win or lose.

Guys are penalized for being complete well rounded defensive fighters..
Boxing is always more exciting with both fighters get punched in the face..
Casual fans dont appreciate the sweet science

Not if you appreciate boxing skill. But this is boxingscene, that respect for the sport, basically doesn't exist here.

Both Ward and Froch are well worthy of their place in the final and it should be a great fight. People make too much of Ward's headbutts, elbows, holding etc. just as they diss Froch for having no skill, no defence etc.
Both these guys are far better than that and anyone who really knows the sport from inside or outside knows this and gives them both due, but also earned respect.
