Andre Ward took advantage of his status. Other than Kessler, Ward was the top dog thus making all his championship fights on his turf. It would have been nice though if he fought Kessler in Denmark, as the Viking Warrior, was #1 at the time. Sauderland must have thought it was going to be a blow out thus allowing for the fight in Cali. Still even if it took place in Denmark, Ward would have won regardless.
Andre Ward home fights are exagerated and he's underappreciated.

Ward has fought 24 bouts. Wladimir Klitschko's first fight out of Germany was his 27th fight - and that was against some unknown dude in Budapest. What's your point?Comment

Is that his status as the Son of Showtime.

I've personally never thought Kessler has been the same since Calzaghe got to him. Still a competitive fighter, but not the machine he was. Last night he did look good against that french lad though.
I'd say Froch v Ward is the hardest fight for both of them yeah, definetlyComment

I think Kessler won the fight, but only by a round or two.
If it were in England Froch could have took it with a home town decision and maybe fought better win the crowd behind him.
Kessler vs Ward, if that was anywhere else but Wardtown, Ward gets DQed.
Shocking how he was allowed to get away with all those headbutts.Comment

Wrong.
Wladimir's SECOND pro fight was outside Germany, and his 21st was in the US. He fought 13 times in 1997.
By the time he was a pro as long as Ward - SEVEN YEARS - he'd had 11 fights outside Germany, including a world title fight in the UK and seven fights in the US includin three world title defences against CONTENDERS.
And Germany isn't really his home country anyway.Comment
