  • Andre Ward home fights are exagerated and he's underappreciated.

Looking at how the top 4 compare after their first 24 fights.

    Froch

When Froch was 24-0, he had one fight out of the UK and the only top fighter he had beaten was Jean Pascal.

    Kessler

After 24 fights, fought once outside Denmark and had beaten no won worth note.

    Bute

Struggled past Andrade the first time and beat Bika - during this time had no fights outside Canada, other than in Romania, but that's considered his 2nd home.

    Andre Ward

With 24 fights under his belt Andre Ward has fought twice out of the US, and within that short space of time has fought Miranda, Kessler, Bika and Abraham - all the while remaining undefeated.

Andre Ward has fought more times out of the US and beaten more top contenders (based on their first 24 fights) then any of the other top 4 fighters in the super six weight class.

Unashamedly, to add more fuel to the fire - After 19 fights Ward fought Edison Miranda. Whereas after 19 fights, Carl Froch fought Tony Dobson; Lucian Bute fought Sergey Tatevosyan; and Kessler fought Tony Menefee.

So comparatively speaking, I think a few anti-Ward fans owe him due props.

Froch has fought four of his last five fights away. Ward has fought five of his last five fights at home.

Sorry, what were you saying again?

Ward: has never fought a single CONTENDER outside of his home state

Ward's past 6 fights all in the US and in his home state of California.

Froch: fought 4 top contenders TAYLOR, JOHNSON, KESSLER and ABRAHAM outside his home country - 4 of his past 5 fights

Abraham: fought his last three last against contenders outside his home country. KOed Miranda in the US.

Kessler: Had to defend his WBA title in another country, when Ward had the crooked Jack Reiss

Kessler fought 3 contenders in their home countries: Calzaghe in Wales, Mundine in Australia and Ward in the US.

Given that Carl Froch has fought much more than Andre Ward and has lost as well, he's bound to have to fight more times outside of his home country.

Yeah I think Ward headbutting skills are up there with the great Evander Holyfield

Actually Bute had fought in Romania, Canada, and USA in his first 24 fights. And, I think he fought 3 times in the USA.

Beating that likes of that Miranda version is nothing to brag about sir.

I wonder if the Son of Showtime will be fighting in his living room for the final. I hear his mother and his father are on the short list for judges the final.
