No announcement yet.
Andre Ward home fights are exagerated and he's underappreciated.

Ward's past 6 fights all in the US and in his home state of California.
Froch: fought 4 top contenders TAYLOR, JOHNSON, KESSLER and ABRAHAM outside his home country - 4 of his past 5 fights
Abraham: fought his last three last against contenders outside his home country. KOed Miranda in the US.
Kessler: Had to defend his WBA title in another country, when Ward had the crooked Jack Reiss
Kessler fought 3 contenders in their home countries: Calzaghe in Wales, Mundine in Australia and Ward in the US.
I know the other stuff already, what's your point. Froch, as much as I'm a fan, will be another name on Ward's resume come the end of the year - joining Kessler and Abraham.
So Kessler has fought 3 times outside of Denmark out of his 46 fight career, Great stuff.
You haven't mentioned much of Lucian Bute?

Wladimir Klitschko's first fight out of Germany was his 27 fight - and that was against some unknown dude in Budapest. What's your point?Last edited by Discipline; 06-05-2011, 12:56 PM.

Ward won his tourney fights because he was, in the ring, leaps and bounds better than his foes those nights. What, if he fought Green on the road, Green might have won a round? If he fought Kessler on the road, Mikkel wouldn't have been utterly clueless inside all night? Kessler magically learns to throw an uppercut at a charge on home turf?
The final should be on neutral turf between England and Oakland somewhere so fans of each can get to the spot. New York or AC is perfect. But the next fight ward wins with the deciding factor being it was in Cali will be the first. There ain't any Ottke-Reid garbage on his ledger.
That said, Froch is a giant bad ass for traveling the way he does. Love a Road Warrior.

I think at this point Ward is a little over-rated, but has shown he has more about him than Dirrell. There is somewhat of a Ward hypertrain on the go at the moment and its hard not to appreciate someone with that talent doing so well, but lets get it in perspective, Ward will never have fought someone in the same class as Froch and the same could arguably be said for Froch
This is the stiffest test for both

Do you understand the difference between a contender and a clubfighter?

I can't believe you're too ****** to understand the difference.
