Hatton is made to order for a guy like Miguel Cotto. Cotto had the better footwork and the more precise punches. I think he edges Hatton in the boxing skill area and would have little trouble knocking out Ricky Hatton, even at 140.
Prime Hatton v Prime Cotto at 140lbs - Who you got?

Prime Hatton had a chin against decent fighters.
Cotto is on a whole different level than a past his prime Castillo. Did you not see the Collazo fight? Hell even Lazcano hurt him with a left hook. He just doesn't see them coming.

Are you ****** Prime Hatton walked through the punches of one of the hardest hitters the 140 division has ever seen. Prime Hatton had no chin? GTFO you ******.Comment

Hatton was a shell of his former self when he fought Collazo. He was way past it at that point and was nowhere near the fighter he was before.Comment

Prime Hatton was only about for one night - against Tszyu.
He may of won the fight but he was never the same fighter.
He peaked that night IMO.
And to the ****ing muppets saying he had no chin. He took punches that night that would of put a rhino to sleep.
And i don't even like the guy.Comment

Ricky Hatton had a much better chin than people give credit for.
After the M.Hatton Vs. Alvarez fight people actually tried to claim Matthew has a better chin than Ricky

There is such an amassment of clueless people on these boards.Comment

hmm, Im actually going to go with Hatton on this one. And this is a prime Hatton against Kostya, not the version that fought Mayweather, Lazcano or Pacquiao.
Cotto was brittle at 140lbs, and Hatton was a bull. Hatton's biggest weakness is running into punches...he has so much forward momentum that his opponents easily can use it against him, and he basically amplifies their punches by running into them. However, Cotto doesnt deal with pressure too well, and wouldnt catch Hatton with those kind of shots too often...Cotto mostly has to lead, at least thats what he had to do at 140lbs.
I think Hatton would outmuscle the drained 140lb Cotto and wear him out late. Maybe not a stoppage, but Cotto would be exhausted and Hatton would start sweeping rounds with his tenacity. Hatton didnt have much, but he actually was a pretty good body puncher, and that could also have drained Cotto.Comment
