Boxingscene has spoken 21-5 in favor of Cotto

Cotto beats the 140 pound version of Hatton. At 147, Ricky gets super demolished.

I can't see past Miguel in this fight.

Ricky's constant come-forward style saw him absorb a lot of punches and he never had much technique, his big shots were always wide hooks. Miguel has a terrific jab which I think would be the key to the fight, it's very stiff and very accurate which could offset Hatton.

Miguel also has better footwork, he's more skilled and he's a more intelligent fighter. Really exciting fight though.

The Collazo fight was at 147 and Lazcano? we are talking about prime Hatton here Lazcano did not face anywhere near a prime Hatton both fights are irrelevant in deciding the outcome of this fight.

Cotto by KO. A current Cotto would be a close fight with a prime Ricky Hatton. I like Miguel Cotto as a championship fighter. He could beat hatton. And WILL beat Antonio Margirito in September.

Why are people failing to read "at 140lbs" in the title. Current Cotto is still better than 140 Cotto, 140 Cotto wasn't half the fighter he was at 147.

This would look like Hatton vs Urango except Hatton would be in shape, does much better against conventional stance, and Cotto can't take a punch but in exchange can land a little better than Urango.

MAYBE, at best, Cotto can score a knockdown. Doesn't have the power for a KO, doesn't have the chin (or more accurately, the ribs) to last in a real war, and can't play keep away to buy time.

Hatton KO in maybe 6 with a body punch to the weight drained Cotto.

You clearly don't know what you're talking about. You probably saw Cottos last 3 fights at 140. And Cotto was never hurt by Malignaggi....some people here are unbelievable. They see Cotto coming in and getting knocked off balance a little by a right hand and it's automatically "oh he got hurt, his chin is ****" blah blah.

Cotto, at his best at 140(Bailey, Pinto) would give Hatton a horrific beating. By the 3rd round Hatton's face would be a a swollen mess just from Cotto's jab landing at will. That alone is something that people don't realize...Cotto is a heavy, heavy puncher...he makes fighers who don't normally swell swell....let alone a guy like Hatton. This is not competitive at any weight. There's just a gap in talent levels that's too hard to ignore.

lol @ the ricans. sure cotto would beat hatton at 147 and 154, but at 140? not so sure. there was a reason as to why hatton had the ring magazine belt and cotto didnt at 140. for those claiming a prime hatton had no chin, obviously have not seen the tszyu fight.
