I think that Bradon Rios is better than all the guys at 140 even though he's smaller. Why does JMM need a tune up for? Why don't he take a tough fight to stoke more interest in the rubber match? Even for me, it's hard for me to envision this as a competitive fight without seeing JMM do something against either Rios like I mentioned or a top 140 lber.

This fight is a hard sell for me only watching JMM beat up on some chump in the lead up to the fight. But this is what JMM has been doing his whole career. Ducking tough fights and then say everybody is scared of him.

I think its more of an issue of pride. From Diaz's eyes, Marquez is using him as a stepping stone. There was a Diaz interview where he stated that he's not a "tune-up" fighter. So to have leverage, he probably asked for a huge payday. It's not that he's afraid of Marquez, he just sees that Marquez needs him (for the tune-up).
