People tend to ignore that Joe wasnt in his physical prime as well.

      Yes.

Plus people forget that was Joe's 1st LHW fight and he hadn';t grown into the weight.

They also forget that bar the knock down Joe would have had a clear and clean win.

And why do people continue to forget Hoopkins mentally improves each fight?

Was also his 1st big fight in Vegas, he was out of his comfort zone, fighting a guy who is a legend at mind games before fights.

Its hard to say when the best BH was. Was the BH who lost to RJJ better than the BH who lost to JC?

I dont think it is fair to say the best BH would beat JC. BH has got a better resume and we can leave it at that. BH wouldnt neccesarily have beat Kessler and Lacy better.

It's a decent win only because the fight was close but he definitely got a gift.

In Hopkins physcial prime he would have easily handled that bum. Thats why Clazaghe hid in england cherry pickin' bums until Roy & Hopkins got old and lost their speed so he had a speed advantage. LAME.

Please even Old Hopkins today would have school'd average Kessler when Calzaghe fought him and slow Lacey when Calzaghe fought him. It is fair to say Hopkins would have been him in his prime because he's not as fast as he was in his physcial prime and thats the only reason the fight was even close because of Joe's hand speed.

There are no "gifts" in close fights.

It wasnt an impressive performance but it was a good win, imo i dont think he did enough in his career to be an atg

B-Hop should have done more to win~ Calzaghe deserved the win and it is a good win for him probably his best.

It was close though, closer than it should have been considering Calzaghe was a good style match up for that version of B-Hop.
