Leonard was a big welterweight, so were hearns and Benitez. We are in an era of small welterweights - pac, floyd, cotto, none of these guys would be welterweights if they were in the same era as leonard and hearns, they'd be fighting at 140 or maybe even below. The only reason pac & floyd kept going up in weight is cause they could afford to and to chase bigger names.

And what you're forgetting is that guys like leonard were massive welters whose frames allowed them to bulk up effectively. Even duran ballooned up to 200 plus lbs between fights. Pacquiao couldn't even make the welterweight limit for a junior middleweight fight. Think about that for a minute.

8 weight championships, 4 lineal titles. No one in history has done that and it may never be replicated again (and he's not done yet). There's a limit though.
