  • Man where are the real Pac fans like Joms and -Top Rank- at? The ones who arent whining and making excuses for Pacquiao and the ones who want to see the Pac-Martinez fight.

Pac has beaten guys who came in the ring over 160 pounds before in Clottey and Margarito. So no excuses. Its pathetic. Same for cry baby Floyd fans too. These 2 are fair game they won BELTS in the JMW division for goodness sake.

He would have an advantage of around 25 lbs against a genuine Lightweigh or light welterweight, who fought symbolically for a promoter devised 154 lb belt, and which he immediatly GAVE UP, saying that he could NOT fight at 154, and in future would not fight above the 147 division.

What coould beb pliner and clearer than this??? Are you are so ******, or so vindictive that you want to see MannyP. beaten and bloodies sprawled on the canvas. And then be proudly boasting that this was YOUR doing.

Sounds like either paranoic schitzophrenia to me...or schitzophrenic paranoia......... It's upside down anyway, and perhaps if you guys were to be left dangling by your ankles upside down , from a lamppost, for a while, you could consider using for the future, better judgement and less malevolence.

This "discussion" is a disgrace to the sport of Boxing, where the essence of a good, enjoyable fight, is to have 2 fairly matched fighters in opposition.
Is this how you also feel about Martinez wanting Floyd Mayweather?

      • see some people can't keep their hidden agenda...they keep on bringing up martinez's skills as if he really has any advantage over pac in that area. pac will not fight martinez because of skills...pac is ducking blah blah blah. what an idiot. no one is denying martinez's skills but that will work out for him because of his size advantage. against marg, pac used his speed and skills to offset marg's size advantage. against martinez, their skills and speed are at par so what's there for pac to offset martinez's size advantage? not much...the size difference will surely make a difference not the skills. just drop the margarito comparison because it's not comparable...drop the ******ity as well.

so at the end of the day marg was easier because he was big but he had no skill and martinez being that he has skill and size will make it a disadvantage for pac so its no reason to fight him? people use the margarito/clottey argument because they were just 3 pounds lighter than serg on fight night so the question is... if serg went down to 152 and rehydrated up to 165 would that be too big for pac????

me personally i dont want to see pac fight martinez and i know it will never happen i just laugh at the reasons people say he shouldnt... its just funny that its out of the question because of size when pac destroys guys who are 3 pounds lighter than serg on fight night.... thats all im sayin...imjustsayin

Cotto at a catchweight.Clottey at full weight because the Pacman offense completely obliterates the Clottey high guard,(plus a fellow tr stablemate).Margarito simply the most bull**** title fight I've ever heard of reasons don't even need mentioning.A clearly shot to **** Sugar Shane who gets blamed because Pacman couldn't stop him. Finally a fat, overweight Marquez who Floyd got ****ted on for beating,at that same weight(by me too cause that was a bull**** fight).

But when it comes to Martinez, the size difference is too great. It's not the size difference that's too great. It's because Martinez isn't a shot big fighter. He's dangerous,he's fast,he can pull the trigger & he's looked spectacular in all his recent fights.
The thread can be closed here. I dont even understand why the TS wanted to make a refurbished thread.

            • Sergio Martinez: "Pacquiao is Too Small, It's a Mismatch"

              Comment

              • Sergio's too high risk, low reward for May or Pac to take at this point. Besides the weight excuses that Pac's camp (and fans apparently) have been throwing out there, both May & Pac can always just fall back on the "he's not a big enough draw" excuse. From a competition and entertainment standpoint, every boxing fan should want to see this fight. If you don't want to see this fight, or would rather Sergio Martinez move up in weight to fight opponents of lesser stature, just so your hero dosen't have to face a real challenge, you're not a real boxing fan, you're a boxer fan who is too emotionally attached to these boxers like little girlie-men.

And, like if the size difference wouldn't matter?

Agreed. Martinez is too big. Sergio Martinez could fight Pacquiao giving him a great chance at 154. But at Middleweight? I doubt Pacquiao would fight well.
