Interestingly, the fight where Manny P lost his flyweight title, was a CATCHWEIGHT fight. Manny was 1 lb over and lost the title on the scales although still within the 112 lb limit. The fioght was at 110, a catchweight, and he killed himself trying to make weight.Comment

i think it as alot to do with the fact pac won a belt there against someone who was 165 on fight night which is 3 pounds lighter than serg was in his last fight... not to mentioned pac destroyed him... i can see if he struggled but he dominated!!!! so the question is... what if serg agreed to 150 and came in at 165 on fight night like marg did would he still be too big? instead of saying serg is too big u should say he is to skilled and is not a big straight ahead targetComment

It would be a good fight at 154.
When asked about the next potential opponent in the Manny Pacquiao sweepstakes, Freddie Roach ran down the usual cast of characters—and dismissed them all with relative ease. If Roach has his way, “Pac-Man” will match up with the man who rose to stardom with the most exciting knockout of 2010.
“I’d like to see him fight [Sergio] Martinez right away,” Roach said last night during a media roundtable. “[Floyd] Mayweather, with what he has going on in his life right now; I think he has to handle that before he can even talk about fighting. Sergio Martinez at the right weight I think can be the most exciting fight out there.”

The only comment i have to make on thsi is that you guys are acting like cowards. You want a small guy, whose successes you envy, so dislike, to fight against the middleweight champion who has shown himself to be not only a top middleweight, but a first class champion. He would have an advantage of around 25 lbs against a genuine Lightweigh or light welterweight, who fought symbolically for a promoter devised 154 lb belt, and which he immediatly GAVE UP, saying that he could NOT fight at 154, and in future would not fight above the 147 division.
What coould beb pliner and clearer than this??? Are you are so ******, or so vindictive that you want to see MannyP. beaten and bloodies sprawled on the canvas. And then be proudly boasting that this was YOUR doing.
Sounds like either paranoic schitzophrenia to me...or schitzophrenic paranoia......... It's upside down anyway, and perhaps if you guys were to be left dangling by your ankles upside down , from a lamppost, for a while, you could consider using for the future, better judgement and less malevolence.
This "discussion" is a disgrace to the sport of Boxing, where the essence of a good, enjoyable fight, is to have 2 fairly matched fighters in opposition.Comment

No one ever said size wont play a role. Ofcourse Martinez uses his size. Still has nothing to do with the fact that Pac wants nothing to do with him at 154.Comment
