He's still a young explosive "Southpaw" and Floyd has been super inactive. You could understand if he dropped a couple of rounds, e****ally early until he gets adjusted to the Southpaw syle & just knocks off some rust all together

I agree. But if it wasn't for Floyd's lay-off, this would be a total mismatch. Only thing Ortiz has going for himself, is his strength.

If he fought Ortiz, that would be awesome, seriously.

I still expect him to trash Ortiz, since Ortiz isn't a great boxer at all. In fact, Ortiz is actually kinda poor in his technical skills. Look at how poor his foot movement was against Maidana and Peterson. And more importantly, Ortiz has NO jab. He basically never throws a jab.

But do you guys honestly think this is true? I doubt it.

if this is indeed true this also tells me he has realistic plans of fighting Manny afterward , i know i know (he's said that before) but i think this would be signs of going down that path..

Ortiz = Southpaw with good speed, power, good quickness (not as energetic as Manny but can put pressure on his opponent)

Everything floyd would need to see before taking on Manny, of course Ortiz isnt Manny , dont get me wrong im NOT saying that , but there aren't a ton of young energetic guys with a total package to see before facing manny..

Correct me if im wrong but Floyd hasnt seen a Quick,Fast Southpaw since Zab Judah and that was in 2008..

like i said if this fight with ortiz is true i think he's setting himself up to finally fight manny.
