Yes because the size discrepancy from 154 to 147 is the same as 147 to 122

Go find the video of Roach. I believe it was on the 24/7 for hatton where he said he saw the IV marks on DLH's arm and told Manny to jump on him because they re-hydrated him way too late.

I definitely remember Roach saying that, which if it's true would be completely baffling because to my knowledge you begin to re-feed and rehydrate after the initial weigh in the day before.

We could argue about this all day, imho that fight was one of the biggest scams in boxing history. You feel differently, and that's cool. Personally I don't think it takes a genius to see that the Pac camp knew Oscar wouldn't be able to fight at 147 ESPECIALLY since Roach trained Oscar. If you disagree with me then fair enough.

you can easily discredit Ortiz in similiar fashion. and while the weight thing does take away from the Cotto win a bit, Cotto is still a damn good win.

fact of the matter is both Hatton and Cotto are better wins than current day Ortiz, whos only good win is over Berto who arguably lost against Collazo anyway.

If Ortiz goes on to do well, then maybe we can talk again. but as of yet hes basically just a guy that got KOed by Maidana and then beat Berto while getting almost knocked out.

still a good fighter, and a very welcome challenge to Pacquiao or Mayweather. but saying he is already a better win than Cotto or Hatton is a huge stretch.

Fair enough. I'll compromise and agree with Cotto, can't agree with Hatton, IMHO he was done after Mayweather.

The only problem with your logic is you seem to think that Pacquiao was the one dictating the terms in that fight. Oscar wanted the fight at 147, not Pacquiao. DLH made 150 in his prior fight so there was no indication he couldn't make 147 in his next fight. Case in point; he came in at 145. If you were struggling to make 147 would it make any sense to come in 2 pounds below possibly killing yourself?

Him coming in at 145 meant it was no problem. People are just quick with the "dead man walking" hindsight cop out because they can't come to terms at how good Pacquiao was that night. He boxed, used angles, speed, and power to dominate the guy who was supposedly fighting a mismatch against a blown up lightweight.

I'd love to give credit to Pacman for the Hatton fight but after Mayweather ko'd him, he fought in his home country vs. Juan Lazcano and looked awful and benefited from some ref riggage to not be ko'd again. Hatton clearly done. Ortiz, on the other hand, while suffering a humiliating defeat vs Maidana came back and looked fantastic vs Berto. I know Berto isnt exactly a world beater but Ortiz looked great especially at 147. He is also young, very strong, has good power with both hands and is hungry. He also doesnt have anywhere near the wear and tear that guys like Cotto and Hatton had. So maybe straight quitting vs Maidana turned out to be a good decision after all.

The point is that if this fight materializes it will be the first time in quite a while Mayweather or Pacquiao have fought a young, hungry, in their prime world class fighter. Debating Ortiz vs Cotto, or Hatton's credentials is meaningless since that isnt the issue. If Pacquiao fought Ortiz and it was announced Mayweather would be fighting Humberto Soto at 144 catchweight I'd be saying the exact same thing, except Pac would get praise and Mayweather would be the one getting ***tted on.
