I can not imagine 46 year old BHop vs Moore or Foster. If we wanna discuss prime Hopkins, then its at middleweight circa 2001. Just my opinion, your mileage may vary.

    good post

Moore or Foster would win over Hopkins.even Pascal had him in trouble twice. come on !
    always a Hopkins Fan here.
but the Fact that Jean Pascal is(was) a champ today says alot about how many of this generations greatest athletes do something other than boxing.
my hope is boxers like Manny.,Floyd B-hop and others will inspire youngsters of today to become boxers of tomorrow.

Wasn't there and haven't seen enough video of Moore or Foster to be certain that Hopkins could have beaten either, but I am fairly certain that there has been no middleweight/lightheavy born that Bhop would not have been competitive with. Like someone else said, this is just generational snobbery. Having said that, no way in hell does a prime Pacquiao beat the **** out of a prime Duran. That is silly talk.

No, man, no. You guys are desperate as hell to have your ATG, but no. Jeff Lacy does not make an ATG.

Ring ratings update: Hopkins is back in pound-for-pound Top 10

He broke two long-standing records that were held by great fighters.

Hopkins became the first undisputed middleweight champion since Marvin Hagler reigned in the 1980s when he stopped Felix Trinidad to add the 3-to-1 favorite’s WBA strap to his IBF and WBC titles in 2001.

He’s fought 16 men who held major title belts.....

            He’s faced nine unbeaten fighters.....

And since 1990..... he’s only lost four out of 59 bouts. Of those losses..... only the first bout with Jones was decisive.

If Hopkins isn’t a great fighter, nobody in the last 30 years is.

                    over-rated......

In my honest opinion, HOPKINS is over-rated. PASCAL is dumb and not even a c-level fighter. Let's see HOPKINS beat BUTE, DAWSON, WARD. His 20 plus title defenses came against either smaller opposition or fighters facing some type of crisis at the time they met. PAVLIK was under-sized at light-heavy, TARVER was coming off ROCKY 6 and had went up to 220plus pounds. TRINIDAD, WRIGHT, DE LA HOYA, TAYLOR, where all smaller than he was. Would he have dominated LEONARD? HAGLER? HEARNS? MONZON? NUNN? HOLYFIELD? FOSTER? MOORE? TONEY? SPINKS? In another era I have a feeling we wouldn't be so quick to rate him so highly. I know boxing so bring on your BAND-WAGON comments. Old school posters only reply!
