Having said, wouldn’t love to see desperate for enticing opponents middleweight king Sergio Martinez go after Hopkins?

Martinez and his minions were eager to bark out challenges to welterweights Floyd Mayweather Jr. and to Manny Pacquiao but they don’t show any willingness to climb from the 160 pound level like BHop did to the light heavyweight limit.

Marley is a ******* through and through. Martinez had to move up to Middleweight and begrudgingly give up his Jr. Middleweight title (the "vacant" Pacquiao-Margarito WBC title) a year ago after beating Pavlik due to some nonsensical rule/corrupt technicality. And he wants him to move up 2 weight classes to 175 to face The Champion there.

46 year old Bernard Hopkins is a Top 5 P4P fighter at 175, he's not zombie Oscar De la Hoya at 147 (not trying to discredit Pacquiao just putting things into proper perspective). B-Hop is not a fighter you can test the waters against after jumping 15 pounds above your weight class.

Instead of the watered down division skipping, Martinez has work to do at 160 and 154 in the form of Pirog, Golovkin, Sturm, Cotto, Margarito, JCC Jr., etc. He decides when he moves up, not anyone else. The reason Pacquiao jumped weight classes was because of the Millions a PPV against De La Hoya would bring in in comparison with what he was making, legacy/competition was secondary. And a fight against Hopkins can't really compare to what 30% of a De La Hoya fight can to someone who's already making over a million dollars per fight.

      yaaaawwwnnnn

Typical boxing snobbery. God forbid a modern fighter be compared with someone from 50 years ago.

Greb would beat them all!!...I can tell from all the newspapers reports...I mean who really needs to watch footage, he was in the 20's so he must be unbeatable /sarcasm.

These kinds of comments always crack me up. No Sh^% a 46-year old Hopkins wouldn't beat a Bob Foster who some argue was the GOAT at 175. Neither would almost anyone else. He'd still be one of the 2-3 best fighters Foster ever beat in a title reign that made up for a weak class with utter dominance.

Moore-Hopkins would have been competitive. Moore probably wins, but it's also probably an ugly fight.

Completely ignorant. People argue and say that past greats are overrated but I remember when people were saying Pavlik would beat Hagler. So who's overrated? And to say that Pac beats the **** out of Duran is rather extreme; Freddie Roach himself said that Duran would likely win. And Mayweather embarrasses Basilio? Based on what? Basilio beat Robinson once and nearly did it again the second time. And yes I know Robinson was past his best, but for 1 he was bigger than Basilio and 2, hes Sugar Ray Robinson. Mayweather does not embarass Basilio, sorry kid.

these kids are just pathetic, they think that new beats old, but they have never cared to even watch the old, they assume the new guard is better because that's all they know

                  pathetic really

I'm not too fond of Moore and Foster's careers but I don't see why Bernard couldn't compete with Michael Spinks...

Just Like Larry Holmes, The Writers Never Want To Give B-Hop His Due!

Hopkins in his prime would have bullied Moore and Foster around the ring making them look silly. More athletic, stronger, a meaner disposition, Bernard Hopkins would have stopped both fighters. Period. Moore had a great and unique defense, but he was slow and not aggressive enough; would have been very predictable for Hopkins. Foster was talented, hit hard, but carried his hands too low, wasn't that good defensively, and even though Hopkins is a defensive genius, he still had great hand speed and power that would have stretched Foster out. Give it up for Barnard Hopkins. He's still making champions half his age look silly.
