Why are you bringing up Mayorga? It was a boxing promoter that stopped that from happening, not anyone in MMA.

Yeah, Cintron spoke about wanting to fight top guys in MMA. And Noons spoke about wanting to fight top guys in boxing. You have no argument here.

Dana offered Enzo Maccarinelli big money to fight in the UFC. Despite having trained BJJ (which very few boxers have) Enzo turned it down.

By the way, Diaz is a better MMA fighter than Cintron, Mayorga or Toney are boxers.

It seems like you're trying to make out that top boxers are up for an MMA challenge but top MMA guys aren't willing to try boxing. I don't think the facts bear that out.

Nope. On the day the fight was announced, Cesar Gracie (Nick's trainer and manager) said that part of the agreement with the promoter is that the fight wouldn't go ahead if they were offered a GSP fight by the UFC instead.

Now, personally I think Diaz looked like shit in the sparring videos that were posted here, but the facts suggest that had nothing to do with how things have worked out.

bummer that Diaz was most likely using the Lacy boxing match as leverage to try and get a bout with GSP. And obviously if given a chance between the two bouts, why risk stepping out of his element with only a 1-0 record in boxing to face Lacy when GSP is the much bigger fight and a fight Diaz has really wanted.

Not sure why you bring up Noons. When he tries to fight lower level guys to improve, people slate him. Yet when he called out Pac and Floyd, people slated him.

Noons deserved **** for calling out the boxing Elite. KJ had done nothing of note in his boxing career, and fought mostly 6 and 8 round bouts. Him calling out the best had more to do with wanting a pay day oppose to fighting the best. You can't exactly jump from fighting 6 + 8 rounds fight to the elite level like that.


**as for why Kermit Cintron never got to fight for the UFC, well I read up on it and apparently Cintron has wrestling experience back in college. Based on that, at the very least it would have been interesting to see him given a shot. But Kermit's lack of name hurt his chances at getting a fight, and his wrestling background gave him a better chance at winning. Lets be honest Dana White wanted a big name boxer who had as little chance at winning as possible. Enter James Toney

he's a big name who's dumb enough to take a fight in the UFC, and besides being way past his prime is overweight as well. Fine you can give all the credit in the world for, because he fought Randy Couture, but Toney came in out of shape and made a complete fool out of himself in the process.

To say mma-fighters receive welfare checks while supporting boxing as It's superior is silly.

That website broke it down to an extent. ESPN pays the least of course. This is for UP-and coming prospects to get t.v exposure. Once in a while you'll get recognizable names like EXAMPLE: Arreola and Angulo but those where just for stay busy or rebound fights. They will still get a good amount but nothing past 30 g's.


If you compare what a Premium cable network such as HBO pays boxers compare to MMA fighters on another Premium cable network such as SHOWTIME you will see the difference on what the networks are willing to pay for a boxing show to a MMA show.

If you compare a small boxing show on ESPN compare to a MMA show on ****E or Versus. My guess boxing still pays more.

IF you compare a boxing PPV with an elite boxer headlining such as cotto/manny/floyd to a UFC PPV with a GPS/LESNAR/SILVA headlining, boxers will get paid more.

To make things clearer Victor ortiz got payed more for a tittle shot on a premium cable network than The BEST MMA fighter out their(AND.SILVA) made on a PPV show.

If you want to take it to the next level....The best boxer in the world (Manny Paquiao) got payed 100 times more than the best MMA fighter in the world for a PPV show.

If you look at it that way...It kinda does look like a welfare check.
