OBVIOUSLY RJJ should have retired years ago. Was he even competetive in this fight up until the KO?

I was busy watching Hopkins fight, didn't even know Roy was fighting...LOL.

Hope Roy FINALLY see's the light and hangs them up after this one. I am hoping he was dominated all fight long as that answer, but he looked pretty fresh and unmarked up until the inevitable end. Hope he doesn't use that as some excuse to continue getting whacked by average fighters any longer as he is not only now tarnishing his legacy, he is demolishing it by hanging around with delusions of still being a good fighter!

Thats the way I also see it. It was a crushing blow and hard to watch, but if Roy had of not dropped or got straight up people would have started to say it was a premature stoppage, similar to the way some people carried on after the Danny Green fight.

It was unfourtunate because he had been competitive up until then and was losing a split decision at the time of the stoppage. It is hard to see a card going Jones' way like one was (86-85) however that isnt as ridiculous as one of the other judges who had it a shut out for Lebedev through 9.

smoger is beyond rebuke or any criticism, the guy is the best in the business and the most professional guy at his job within his profession. no one can really hold a candle to the guys work.

he lets fights happen, gives fighters a fair chance, always calls a fair fight, is rarely seen inside the ring during the action, and most importantly he makes sure the fighters are safe, well as safe as it can be for one on the losing end of a punch........ or series of them, bottom line he's the best there is and arguably one of the best ever at being a ref.

Smoger spent the whole day before the fight watching Roy Jones Jr. clips from the nineties.

                sound sensible..

The last punch didn't look as hard as the one that put Roy in trouble earlier in the combination, it just happened when Roy was helpless. It looks like an acceptable call considering Jones is turning into a punching bag. Roy needs to quit before people start blaming Smoger for Roy getting killed.

I believe that the stopage was a bit late.

I have a bigger problem with the thinking that because there is only a few seconds left, he hesitated. A few seconds can end someone at that level. Even if there is one second left...If a guy's done, then he's done. Waive it off.
