People are not over sensitive because it was Roy Jones but he looked really bad. The guy has suffered the most concussions at the later stages of his career. Hopefully Roy does not suffer major brain defects for the past devastating KO's he has suffered

The stoppage I don't have a problem with, but I think he caused unnecessary damage to Roy by letting him fall after stopping the fight.

Couldn't Have Happened To a Better Fighter!
I LOVE seeing Roy Jones, JR get knocked out in devastating fashion! Only Floyd Mayweather would I enjoy seeing dismantled more, now that I think about it! And like Roy, Floyd's day is coming; all they need to do is drag Floyd into the ring with Pacquiao. Roy hand picked his opponents his whole career. Had such an agreement with HBO even. Took no chances, no risks most his career until he zigged when he should have zagged, taking two schalackings by Tarver, then train wrecked by Glenn Johnson and Danny Green, beat up by Bernard Hopkins. Now this latest. These are the risks Floyd is avoiding. Take stale, one dimensional fighters your whole career, then accidentally get paired with someone with game, and it looks like this. Roy has been all about the bling, the rap singing/dancing, the flash, speaking of himself in the third person. Maybe Roy should grab another fight, maybe get knocked cold again. I love it! Are you watching Floyd?!!? You skeeeerd Floyd?!!!!? See what happened to Roy? Get back in the ring, and your ass kicking is coming up next... so long as you fight someone.

i agree jones had no buisness being in the ring with lebedev in the first place but that doesnt mean the ref doesnt need to bother to do his job.
u say fighters shouldnt have a nurse refereeing them, wtf is that supposed to mean? its not the refs job to stop the fight when a fighter is out of it? last time i checked it was their job to stop the fight when a fighter is unable to intelligently defend himself.
i guess that doesnt apply when a fighter is washed up then? like u say roy took the fight so doctors and referees might aswell stay home, hes washed up so theres no need for them to do their job, if roy gets hurt he has himself to blame. right?
In boxing, there are no " special " standards, even for RJjnr.
When you said this..... "letting him fight, hes letting a helpless fighter take unnecessary punishment and taking unnecessary risks with his health"..... I literally applied everything you said to Jones and his team.
Jones' management team are guilty of "letting him fight", and before that match even started Roy was "a helpless fighter", who was going to end up taking "unnecessary punishment", and ultimately would be "taking unnecessary risks with his health".
Nothing actually changed during the course of the fight imho.
I am sure that I agree 100% with your bottom-line.
Its time to hang em up Roy.
