do rankings really matter ? Who cares what Bruseles was ranked or what Chop Chop was ranked after getting beat or what Mitchell was ranked after getting torched? Rankings dont mean much to me, hell David Diaz was champ.

but you would give him credit for his catchweight win for a vacant belt against against a suspended boxer would haven't won anything at that weight? what about his catchweight win of the wbo belt against a boxer who has been struggling and got a gift SD in his previous fight

Who exactly wants to see this fight? *******s? That doesn't count because they would be OK and would "want to see" him fight anybody - he could fight Uzzy for the 154 lb belt and you guys would want to see it. "Fans" of boxing do not want to see this fight because it is meaningless.

Look, JMM is old. He's going on 38 years old. He is still a good fighter because he is technically sound but he's not what he used to be and that's the reason Manny is taking this fight.

Floyd beat Marquez a few years ago, and now that he's showing signs of an aging fighter Pacquiao is sticking with the trend of fighting Floyd's leftovers so that he can beat them more convincingly.

Marquez is going to get knocked out by 10 count, or a forced stoppage, then they can point at Floyd and say "We beat the same guy more convincingly." That is exactly why it is meaningless - as meaningless as his last few fights, because Manny only has to show up and do what he is expected to do. It will not be competitive because Marquez is not the fighter he used to be.

He is still technically better than Manny is, but he's just getting old.

Margarito was nobody. Floyd fought Baldomir who was the LINEAL CHAMPION and Floyd made more money fighting Baldomir.

More money for a belt against the lineal champion?

                    or.

Fight Antonio Margarito for less money and no title?

Come on, man, get your facts straight.

And Cotto wasn't going to beat Floyd anyway, and those negotiations never even took place. Why would Arum have put his top prospect at the time in Miguel Cotto with Floyd Mayweather? That's a risky fight, no chance that Arum does that because it would have most certainly have meant an L for Cotto, and that cuts your stock in half.

Say what you want about Floyd, buy the propaganda if you want, but the dude is great - one of the greatest ever and easily the greatest boxer today.
