Maybe his chin isn't as bad as people are making out... But there's definatly gonna be a problem for him there.
it's not his chin it's his defense, he was getting tagged with straight hands all night...he needs to be more polished

      exactly.
The point is, while Hatton and Floyd are taking laurels, COtto is taking leftover ****. We all have to admit that. A lot of people question his skills. A lot of people doubt his talent. The only way of proving you are an elite is to beat those above you.

Right now, Cotto is below the food chain of Hatton and Floyd. It's a fact and if he doesn't live up to the expectations, he will simply be dismissed as another wannabee.

And we can say he wasn't world class, because thats a title you earn. Cotto was called a world class fighter and was being hyped (wrongfully) by HBO brass to be the next great Puerto Rican fighter. I think he can... he sure has better boxing skills than Tito.

I think Cotto's performance sunk HBO's inflated view of how good Cotto really is. Unfortunately for us, I think we're going to see another year of Cotto against fringe competitors.
Torres was a last minute replacement though. He had only trained for like 2 weeks.

Also he is coming all the way from South America to New Jersey. I know how messed up I was after going from UPSTATE New York to New Zealand. How it took longer to gather my stamina and my wits. Considering the difference in climate and elevation and everything he was experiencing with his traveling, and not having much time to prepare for it.....His lack of stamina was likely for these reasons.

Cotto is not overrated in my opinion. I think he will beat Hatton by KO if they ever fight. Cotto has fough many good fighters, 2 times he's been in trouble, he came back & KO Corley & Torres. Also Cotto has impressed before with his boxing skills. He doesn't brawl in every fight. He's well schooled for his age & I think he will be a tough fight for anyone, except Mayweather.

Yeah, not yet. After Hatton and Mayweather move up to 147.

hatton JUST fought his first live body in tszyu...before that he was fighting scrubs...what is he like 40 years old or some ****? how any fights did it take for him to finall step up?...its about ****ing time, and not only that, but he's scared to fight out of his backyard.

so yeah, hatton is no superstar.

But Hatton is considered the better fighter by many. That means he has more "value" than Cotto. The only way to dismiss that speculation is to beat him and take his place. Then go up against Floyd and take his place. It's the rule of the jungle and the best gets first and prime servings.

                  All the rest eat crumbs.
