Because he's a fraud making money off a name. In his first couple of fights, people were easy on him but when he kept making bullshit fights against bums over and over, people just got fed up.

See the thing is that Cotto has been getting easy ass fights. How many tune ups can this guy get? Of course I want that fraud Chavez to be exposed but there is guys like Pirog, Martinez, and several others that can do that.

Cotto actually wants this fight. So you can't throw this shit out there that Arum is forcing him to take this. Cotto has say in this and he should fight a better opponent if he expects any credit from anybody.

I think if it was up to him, he'd be battling the big boys. He has no amateur career from what I know, so he's using the pro game to sharpen up his skills. I can respect that and wait it out.

This is one of those things where its like a no-win situation for either guy.

Cotto is getting ****ted on because he fought Mayorga, who was past prime (although he he looked in amazing shape, not expected) so now he's going up in weight against a prime and young champ (looking ahead). I think JCC is a formidable challenge, with all the physical advantages he has. This fight will make Miguel dig deep, believe that.

However, if Cotto doesn't fight a young guy, he'll get ****ted on. If Arum is using this as a build up fight for something bigger, I think its no problem. If he's using this as a stop-gap for Margs 2, then no biggie. At least it gives Cotto more time to prep for Margs.

JCC is in a catch 22 because he needs to step it up (Cotto is a HoF'er I think, pretty big jump) however he'll get ****ted on because Cotto had to move up.

-Cintron is a waste of everyone's time. The only reason this is somewhat viable is because it'll crown a lineal champ at 154. Even then, I think its a worthless fight. Cintron is a clown. He needs to fight PWill or Martinez, or better yet, go away.

--Angulo isn't even allowed in the USA, how is that fight supposed to be made? Where is it going to be broadcast? Why would Cotto go to Mexico for a nobody? He needs to get his Visa, fight a few fights and get his game back on, then we can revisit this fight.

--Martinez fight is legit and needs to happen, however I believe that Cotto needs to fight JCC Jr or another quality MW and perform exceptional at a higher weight before there is belief that he'll be competitive against Martinez. Martinez has grown into a MW now and it'd probably be career suicide for Cotto at this point. But if he holds his own at MW (not counting on it), then **** it, bring Martinez.

Other than that...who else is there that'll bring money, name value and good TV? Jr. MW is slim pickings, as is WW.

At MW this fight would be hard on his body, it's not as one sided as alot of these guys are making it out to be. He's being given the opportunity to incite another Mexico vs PR war, and I for on am in favor of it. If you throw either one of these guys in with Martinez no one will give them the time of day but put em together and you might actually get a decent scrap, and thats what ppl wanna see at the end of the day. Bout time Chavez stepped it up, I just can't understand how the fans can lose knowing so much is at stake for both fighters. Roach and Steward going to be doggin each other at the presser lol
