Jones had a lot of weight issues to deal with in the 1st fight. If Roy and Tarver had fought at 190 or so, Tarver might hve eeked 3 rounds out max. But, as it was, Tarver made it a close fight.
As far as the lucky punch goes...whether it was lucky or not, it was devastating and may have had a real bad affect on Roy. Manny said the two KO's close 2gether is what could affect Roy in a permanent way. If that's the case, Roy is going to have to be really sharp and aware to win this fight.
I'll say this. Whatever Roy's best is at 36, after suffering two KO's close together, after accelerating his decline by losing muscle mass, that is what he will be at. He'll be at his best.
Some positives I hear and see in Roy's favor are that Tarver looked really slow in his last fight with Glen, and Roy Sr. is in Roy's camp saying there are some technical changes to Roy's gme going on. Also, in Roy's mind, this is life or death. He has a good mindset for this fight it would seem.
Of course, Tarver has that annoying style and also has that great equalize in his left hand...but, if Roy isn't shot, he can avoid Tarver's biggest weapon.
All of which may be true, I still am leaning more towards the simple fact that styles make fights. For every fighter there is one fighter with a style that gives them fits. It doesnt mean that Jones is no good (look back at his amazing career..enough said) it just means that Tarvers style is a ***** for Roy. But, you already know my opinion on that...we've "sparred" over it repeatedly!
the 1st fight a draw??? thats the one thing i hated about the show, they made it out like tarver COMPLETLY won the first fight which is total bull****. everyone "remembers" that the fight was a bit close and dramatic but memory only serves you so well, if people would go back and actually watch the fight they would see tarver standing in the ring doing nothing for the majority of the fight. yeah, he had some good flurries, does that mean he won the entire fight? hell no!
other than that i thought they did a good job with the show. i think roy will win but look a bit like the recent mosley. i predict a boring, dissapointing type of fight. i wont be upset at all though as long as roy wins...

Hmmm, I didnt say tarver won..I said I scored it a draw. I have it on tape and have watched it many times. I put the tv on mute if I'm trying to score a fight, cause they are idiots. So I wasnt swayed by cheerleader jim and the crew, okay.
The countdown to this fight is gonna be a 10 count for Roy after a brutal beating. Tarver is going to be a lot looser and more willing to open up and follow up. As far as Roy's weight issues, please, Tarver is the naturally bigger man and walks around at a heavier weight than Roy ever has. Roy just got old and comfortable fighting setups and Tarver and Johnson exposed him. Y'all musta forgot!
jones is focused, jones is dedicated, this spells big trouble for tarver. jones is also rested, and will be able to make the weight easily unlike the first fight where he still clearly beat tarver at the closest 8 rounds to 4. i scored it 9-3.
the second fight he dominated til he got caught with the eyes closed punch.
he will start the same way and keep it up and finish tarver off in the 4th.
The first fight with Tarver wasn't even close. Tarver won about 30 secs of every round when Roy was on the ropes, and RJJ won the 2:30 of each round. I think this is going to be a very close fight, it's going to go down to who wants it more, and who has more desire to win. RJJ is hungry, when I saw him commentating on HBO all the time, I just had a feeling he was training hard during his semi-retirement so he could avenge his loss.
A hungry RJJ, is an AWESOME RJJ. RJJ UD or TKO LATE.
Anyone know if the fight is going to be 12 rounds? I don't think it's a title fight because Glen Johnson still has his belt and didn't lose it to Tarver when they fought.
