Obviously at 5 foot 11, and a decent build, he is the bigger man. He has gone up to Mw now too. So, would he even be on their level or is it his size that really makes him a threat?

No HOF type fighters on his resume, while Floyd and Pac have guys who will surely be inducted!

He is getting too much hype for my liking.
Certainly not P4P number 1 for me.

U do know that Martinez's dimensions are about the same size as Oscar & Margarito right.Besides Martinez is more the size of jr middleweight than middleweight. When it comes to fighting real fighters & not stiffs, then all of a sudden Floyd & Manny are too small. But Floyd wasn't to small when he beat Oscar at 154 & Pacman wasn't too small when he beat Margarito for the 154 title. All of a sudden they're to small though when an elite fighter who isn't shot wants to meet them their & settle who's the best active fighter.

No. I doubt he'd beat either of them at 154 as it is.

Boxing is judged on weight though my man. This is what people do not talk about when they are fans of someone. I have done it myself.

As for the size of a JMW than a MW, then what is Pac? He is 5 foot 6, with short arms.

Firstly, Oscar was for the money for Floyd.

Secondly, Pacquiao only fought Marg because Arum wanted to make money, and also get Pac that title. A record perhaps.

Both, clearly can make 147 easily. Floyd looks slight even today and Manny has to physically bulk up to make 147, which he doesn't.

Anyway, my thread was mainly about is size the only issue that has made Martinez a 'challenge'

If he was a WW, would he be on their level?

Absolutely not. His defense is so bad that hes a knockout waiting to happen. I think he loses to Drizurick at 154.

I know my guy.I'm a fan of the Punisher who makes 147 easily even though he's about 6-3 & has more than 80 inches of reach & finds it hard to make the full 160 when he fights at middleweight. But there are weight classes is right. All 3 have been champion & competed at 154.I don't really see the size difference though between Oscar,Martinez & Margarito at 154 though,do U??But yes,Martinez would easily compete with either at welterweight if he wasn't almost 40 himself he'd probably be able to make ww.He's better than ever-single-fighter that Floyd or Manny has fought at welterweight & above.
