I agree to a point. First, Manny is not really in his prime (age wise). Like I said to another poster, Manny should be more vocal/involved about who he is fighting next instead of letting scumbag Arum handle everything.

That being said, he should NOT be expected to move up and be pummeled by a 160 + # fighter. It's ridiculous, you people just want to see a lop sided fight and you cover it up by saying you want to see a "challenge" let's be real man.

Hes won titles in 7 divisions and they still say he needs to step up in weight?
They just want him to step up more until he meets someone who can beat him. If Pac beats Sergio they will say he needs to step up to beat Froch. If he beats Froch.....well you get my drift.

unless youre a Pacquiao fan thats afraid of seeing him lose, then you want this fight to happen. Its one of the best matchups possible in boxing, why the hell wouldnt you want to see it?(at 154 only)
First things first is Pac vs Floyd. But if floyd wont fight Pac, then we want to see Floyd vs Martinez. Do you want to see Martinez shop wear Pac more before Floyd fights Pac? Depending on who wins, then Pac can fight Floyd or if Floyd loses Pac can forget about Floyd and fight Sergio.

Lets see Floyd put some mileage on the clock for a change.

Exactly. Manny is just in a very strange position right now. People hate him because he mopped up the whole division, and now there is no competition left, except for a duckweather. Now because there is no comp, they blame him.

They want his blood by having him move up to unrealistic weights and get pummeled. The person that REALLY needs to challenge himself, is Floyd Mayweather because he doesn't EVEN FIGHT anyone! yet *****s don't want to go there.

For sure. Get Floyd in the ring with Sergio already.

That's like if Martinez beat up someone ****ty at 168...so then he's ready to take on Bute? BS

The fact they are 2 divisions apart and could conceivably meet at 154 is a MIRAGE. Martinez is too big. It's completely irresponsible for the trainer and promoter to pit their prize fighter against someone who would outweigh them by 20 pounds plus in the ring....these guys arent heavyweights for chrissake
lol, you wouldnt want to see Martinez vs Bute? youre an idiot.

and Margarito was just as big as Martinez, the size difference is not the problem, its the fact that Martinez actually has a chance to win.

real Pacquiao fans want to see him tested against the best fighters available. I dont give a damn if he loses.

And you are just going to completely f***ing ignore the fact that Pac said, he took major punishment in that fight from the 165 pound bigger fighter?? Or do you just put blinders on and forget those facts?

And it's not to say he shouldn't fight the bigger guys simply because he got hurt, because that happens in boxing. BUT for a naturally smaller guy to have to continuously face a MUCH bigger opponent to somehow prove he is great, is f***ng ******ed.

he doesnt HAVE to face Martinez. but a win over Martinez would obviously be the best win he could get right now, other than Mayweather.

I dont have a problem with him fighting Bradley or Ortiz or someone. as long as hes fighting top competition.

My annoyance is with people that dont want to see Martinez-Pacquiao, despite it being one of the most significant matches possible in boxing.

The reason that people may not want to see it, because it doesn't make ANY SENSE for Pac to put his body through that again. What don't you get about that?

Of course it's an "intriguing" fight, but once again, you are asking a 145 pound man to step in the ring again, against another 160 pound man so you can see a "significant" fight. How can you possibly think this is a fair situation??

Pac should be fighting tough competition at, or near, his own weight class like you stated. But to keep moving north at this point is just ****** and very dangerous. And not the "good" kind of danger in boxing where you get a good challenge, but the kind that makes no sense at all for his body type.

If people feel like there is no tough competition at WW or JWW for him, then that's not his fault!!

                    • Exactly why should Pac have to step up another division and face a guy who is 5inches taller as well p4p the no2 guy in the world?

SRL stepped up to middleweight, 2 divisions from his original weight WW and that was enough for people. Lets not forget how tall SRL was at 5ft10 facing Marvin hagler who was shorter.

Do people see how ridiculous it is to underestimate what Pac has achieved.
