Were some of the punches illegal, yes. Were all of them? No. Many of the hits were Klitskco's head being moved into the wrong place at the wrong time. It was repeated offenses, but by no means rabbit punching or something that Peter was attempting to do. I think he should have been warned for sure, however.
...Not something he was attempting to do?? Are you kidding me? That's exactly what he was attempting to do. Rough up Wlad and get away with it.
Who cares whether an illegal punch is intentional or not?
It is illegal, period.
If so, the first two KDs should not have been counted as KDs.
So you're saying it's illegal... what the **** is your point? Guess what, every fight has plenty of illegal actions. Deal with it. Wlad was knocked down due to being tired and Peter's shots being heavy enough to more or less push him to the ground. Whether or not it is intentional is a huge factor. If you throw a large looping punch, and the person steps forward and you clock him in the back of the head is entirely different then somebody turning around with their back to you and clocking them with a straight right hand.
Guess what, speeding is illegal too. But going 10 over and going 40 over are entirely different.
I was going to bump the "pick" thread and shine a light on 'em, but then I did have to think that it did NEARLY come true. After all, two KDs in a single round isn't to be sniffed at. Let's face it, no one said Peter was going to win by boxing skill...

DEAL WITH THIS:
If someone hits below the belt, it is illegal. It gets penalized.
If someone punches on the back of the head, it is illegal. It gets penalized (normally).
Whether intentional or not makes the penalty harder or lighter. For example, Golota was DQ for illegal AND intentional punching. For unintentional punching he would have been deducted a point.
So, do you see now my point? Sam should have been WARNED AT THE LEAST.
Those two knock downs in the 5th were from illegal rabbid punches. The knock down in the 11th was legit.
Having said that, It doesn't matter. Wlad won! He's apparently learned how to protect himself, and now knows what to do when he's hurt.
He still has some question marks about his stamina, but he proved he can go 12 rounds. Also, he took a couple bombs right on the jaw from Peter and took them very well.
I have always been a Wladimir fan in good times and bad, and now he has restored my faith in him.
Go Wlad! Look for Chris Byrd to retire if he beats Williamson.
