Why doesn't Manny buy out his contract?

Look, from what I see, Manny seems to be an extremely loyal person, almost to a fault. He probably feels he owes Bob a lot and credits him for his success. Face it, whether we like it or not, Bob has played a huge role in making Manny, not just a boxing start, but a breakout celebrity.
Fact is, dude is a very rich Filipino in a foreign country. Everyday this guy gets hit up by strangers looking to make a few bucks off him. He trusted Bob, and Bob delivered. Yeah, he’s taking a huge cut, but he delivered.
I agree, Manny should negotiate a better deal but Manny doesn’t strike me as a very greedy person. He seems happy with his situation and is grateful to the people that helped him get ther.
I mean no disrespect...but you sound like a guy that get taken advantage of A LOT
Manny owes Bob Arum...NOTHING!!! I don't understand why some people actually would want Manny to continue to be Arum's...SLAVE! It is kinda sad actually when people are not confident in themselves that they would rather just stay in the situation that they are in just because they are comfortable being in that situationLast edited by sicko; 05-12-2011, 06:07 PM.Comment

Yes, its called Stockholm Syndrome.
Stockholm syndrome is a psychological behavior that appears in certain hostage situations. The condition appears when the hostage begins to show loyalty to or sympathy with the people who are holding him or her captive. Stockholm syndrome can also be used to describe the behavior of certain victims of domestic abuse, bride kidnapping, financial ****, fighters fed a steady diet of no hopers to fool the public, build a legacy and line the pockets of their promoter.
From what my Pinoy friends tell me, in the Philippines, he's a different dude. He's ****in Elvis, both MJs, and Schwarzenegger all roled into one. But here, he ain't goin no where without a slick business man guiding his career. And apparently, he's willing to pay for those services.Comment

This too. MP Promotions is being mishandled by a group of incompetent people he calls his friends. Even if Koncz is control freak and an ass, his hanger ons aren't better because they lost him millions in endorsements. And when he does get a deal, he gets sued because someone else signs for him and he never fulfills the contract.Comment

LOL! Could be, but seriously, do you really see Manny on his own? Self promoting? What else is dude gone do? He can barely speak english. Floyd was able to come up with a persona that commands attention. Manny, at least here in America, is just a quiet, supposedly humble, boxer...nothing more, nothing less. I guess that's his appeal and Bob played a big role in selling that image. He got that rags to riches persona down and it works.
