The thing is, I agree with Soldier, he does have skills, but he needs to USE THEM! You know what you are when you know what to do, but can't do it? A trainer!
I don't know why I just said that, but I just felt like it.
Anyway, Cotto needs to use his his skills and set up power shots in a way where he isn't there for the return fire.Comment

I have to say although I was impressed with his heart, I was highly dissapointed in his ability to stay focused and keep with a winning strategy. I see he was focused after getting hurt....no he wasn't he should have boxed torres and used the huge skill advantage he had. Torres hasn't fought many quality fighters according to HBOs listing of only 6 fights against fighters with a winning record. If you like heart cotto showed a lot of it, if you were looking for skill you may have been misled. Sad to say he's over hyped and for those that don't believe me read the threads. "Cotto would destroy Mayweather and Hatton" "Cotto is greater then Trinidad" !!! OMG COTTO RULEZ! .... its sad :/ btw Hatton KO 5 Mayweather TKO 8 both winning over Cotto....Comment

i think torres is a legit contender. and i think cotto is overrated.
corley is not a puncher, yet he damn near KOd cotto. torres is a solid puncher and every time he landed a clean shot, cotto wobbled.
cotto is a good bodypuncher, has solid power, technique, skill, and heart. but his chin is suspect after his performance against torres.
in my mind, both fighters lost.Comment

Cotto just refuses to get knocked out. He was hurt bad a few times in this fight, went down once. But just when it seems like he's going to get KTFO, he comes back from the dead.
I'm still not sure if it's a lack of power from his opponent or if it's just something in him.
It's kind of like Diego Corrales, he can get knocked down a few times, but he'll still get back up and keep fighting.
Cotto looked hurt bad a few times in this fight, but all of a sudden he does a little shuffle with his feet and he's regained his senses again.
I just wish Cotto and his camp would finally take a fight against a big name like Mayweather, Hatton, Castillo or Corrales.
Enough with these guys we've never heard of.
I want to see Cotto in a big fight for once.Comment

Cotto shouldnt be criticized for what happened tonight and I will tell you why. Cotto was hurt yes we know that and he was hurt in the Corley fight. But if it is one thing I know about Cotto is that he is to damn strong to go down. Wobbling means nothing if you cant finish the job...Without question after tonight, I believe Cotto is the toughest S.O.B. in boxing right now....Cotto=Duran.Comment

In his blood man...Those boys love to brawl, it is a shame because he probably is the best body puncher in boxing today....But hey if he can do it and get away with it why not?..It is great buildup until he fights a prime and ready to go guy though.Comment
