why isnt clottey a legit fight? he's a top ranked WW at that time and there was no catchweight. because he lost a CLOSE fight to cotto? it wasnt the greatest fight out there but pac is campaigning at WW and the other best fighter in that division learned how to quack. berto and mosley were already scheduled to fight.

It wasn't too bad. Not as bad as his last few fights.

But still, Clottey is simply an average fighter and doesn't belong in the same ring as Manny Pacquiao. Add the fact he was coming off a loss just makes that worse.

I can't even remember back to late 09 and who was availble but I''m sure Clottey wasn't the best fighter available. The fight was made merely because he's with Top Rank.

Pac has all the leverage and for the 1000th time if Marquez and his team isn't ****** they should not try to bulk marquez up like they did when he fought floyd. Come at your best weight at the weigh in and weigh 144-145 ( his normal weight during fight night )

They should learn from Pac. Since Pac's been at WW he hasn't really tried to make that weight he just comes in at his best weight to not slow himself down. The Margarito fight was the best example.

Besides they're still the same size. i bet they're just gonna be separated by no more than 5 pounds during the fight.

Exactly.. Nimrods havent caught on to this yet.. The keep saying Pac is moving up in weight when he is just moving up in weight classes.. From the Super Featherweight bout til now Pacs Fight night weight has been from 142-148 in or around that area.. Pac never made 154 and was clearly lower then 150 on fight night..

Pac is demolishing these slower bigger fighters on speed and decent enough power to make the bigger guy think twice.. The only fight Pac has layed out cold was Hatton who is the smallest of the bunch and is a head first fighter..

Marquez has proved he doesn't belong at 147. Hense why he moved straight back to 135, saying " The weight bothered me"

No one should get credit for beating Marqeuz above 140. Even if your name is Manny Pacquaio.

JMM doesn't have to came in at 140 or above, he most probably learned from his mistakes,from his last outing at WW. I don't think he needs to bulk-up for this fight, he's not going to KO Manny.

Why does every Pacquiao fight have to be a legacy/career defining fight? No fighter in the history of the sport has match-making like that, and quite frankly that's not even possible.

The guy is the P4P #1. The best fighter in the world.

His last 3 fights have been bull**** fights, now this one.

When fighters are at there peak like Pacqiauo is, don't have 'just a win' fights 4 times in a row, I'm sorry.

I don't get this arguement as well. There is usually a hierarchy to each division (wont get into that now) but to sum it up Clottey is a fighter that is just below elite status as a WW.

Every division has them. Guys like Katsidis, Bika, Miranda, Glen Johnson, Orlando Salido just to name a few. They may lose to the very elite of their division, but they can pretty much beat everyone else. I mean Pacquiao beating Clottey is the same as Marquez beating Katsidis, Ward beating Bika, Dawson beating Johnson just to name a few.

It's only when your name is Pacquiao that you don't get credit and people look at it as a cherry pick, when if you follow the history of the sport, every elite fighter in a weight class fights and beats guys like that from time to time.

Clottey was a solid win of a top 5-7 WW, so I never got the problem as far as that fight was concerned.

Make this fight at 140 belt or no belt. JMM needs to come into this fight at his best and at 145 or 147 that aint it. Manny makes all his challengers come down in weight to fight him why can't he come down once and fight.

if marquez fights pac at 140, he still comes in his lightweight form of 145 on fight night

if he fights pac at 145 or 147, the exact same applies, use your logic mate, as long as marquez does not bulk up, the weight does not matter. pac is a very small welter, this wont be a miss match at all, pac will only be around 3-4 pounds heavier in the ring. if marquez was fighting a normal or big ww and bulked up like last time, then there would bea huge prob with the fight

marquez has chased this for years, he had two close fights, he deserves this

I don't want to see Marquez fight at 140. I don't want to see Marqeuz above 135. Therefore I don't want to see Marquez fight Pacquaio.

Pacquaio is a comfortable WW now, with the power and strength of a WW. Marquez isn't, no matter what he weighs on fight night.

To be honest, if that how feel, why are you so concerned about his career? There are dozens of other fighters, so why are you paying so much attention to Manny? Thats what I don't get about posters like you.

I say this because while I was a fan of Floyd at one point, I didn't agree with his career choices. Did I sit around a pc flaming his every move? No, I just made a choice to ignore him and follow other fighters. Now I'm not saying your flaming his every move, that was me speaking in general, rather just me asking why do you care so much?
