True dat. Floyd could've put the haters in check. I just don't know if Marg and Cotto are that great. They just weren't that good then. For example, I have no problem with people saying Manny is an ATG. But when they use Clottey and Marg as reasons why thats when I say cmon. Clottey and Marg do not make someone a top ten ATG fighter.

      I disagree.

I truly believe Shane wanted to beat Manny and silence those who were saying he was done as a top fighter. This was up until he got hit in the 3rd round.

After that, he went into survival mode so he wouldn't get KTFO or battered like Cotto and Margarito.

I'm sorry but there is NO WAY i'm placing any blame on the Pacman! I'll save that pill for another day. I can't take any fault in a man who is coming forward to fight, while the other is in full flank retreat. ANYBODY can have an off night, but like others have said, I think Manny was simply frustrated by Mosley's running for the ENTIRE FIGHT!! I'm more disappointed that Shane being the 1st black fighter Manny has faced didn't represent us better. There was a lot at stake here, and this guy simply came for the check..nothing more!! But this is where i start to scream conspiracy and i'm pissed with Manny and his followers: Firstly how could Shane go through a rigorous training camp without [B]ANYBODY knowing the man could no longer pull the trigger? Shane seemed "shocked" by his speed and power, so his camp couldn't afford some heavy handed fast sparring partners to emulate Manny's style???? Which brings me to his preparation for the fight...What WAS he doing for the last 3 months? Slugging punching bags? All that said Manny loses my respect not for the manner in which he fought, but the opponents he's chosen. I've always wondered what made people think Manny was some all-time great when he has faced washed up competition..nobody wanted to see a Mosley Pacman fight from the get go! We either wanted Berto, or Marquez, remember that? So for MAnny to sign off on Mosley, just shows he NEVER fights the best, and just like you guys accuse Mayweather of ducking Manny, or waiting for him to get older, I return that accusation on Manny for ducking Marquez! Manny has fought old left-overs, and looked great against them, he hasn't fought one fighter in their absolute prime, and the one he did fight near it, gave him hell, and he's stayed away from him ever since. All of Mannys opponents since Marquez have been people who march straight to him and sit there for Manny to pound on them., and thats why Manny doesnt get any respect from true boxing fans..what has he done?? Who has MAnny truly defeated? Old men and has beens.

Dude, floyd is making $22-25 mil per fight. There are promoters, Shaw, Kustner, Main events, etc. who don't generate that in 2 years. ESPN's budget for boxing isn't even $20 mil. Manny generates a lot (bot somehow Bob pays him 6-7 mil).

I get what you are saying but they are like ODH, Tyson, Ali. They get coverage on the front page of the paper, not just the sports section.

Respect your point but there is no way Shane tried to win. Funny, he stopped trying to win against floyd in round 3 as well. Its like he thought that punch got him some respect.

Mayweather had the potential to be one of the best of the last 15 years.
But potential means that 'he could have been' one of the greats.
He is no longer a fighter.
He is the definition of wasted talent.

Maybe...maybe not. A prime Cotto and Marg could have at the very least changed the perception that Floyd doesn't take any risks. A prime Cotto was a problem. A fresh Marg was a handful for all 12 rounds even though limited in many other areas. These names at the very least would have helped Floyd's cause.
