I'm kinda glad Manny was frustrated by the booing. I swear, if Arum offers him Cotto II next year, Manny should just remember the last 4 rounds of that fight where he rode on his bicycle.

Couldnt agree more with the article. However as long as they can sell these mismatchs to the basically ignorant boxing public we will continue to get these mis matchs. I understand Pacmans frustrations but at the end of the day he is the man who is stepping into the ring and he has to take some responsility for the consequences.

        sure :joker:
He squandered a chance at actual, long lasting greatness. He has avoided every career defining fight he can in favor of forcing "history" by cherry picking weak, and old title holders. Some of those guys didnt even have a belt until they fought Manny. Then all the sudden the fight was for a "Diamond Belt" or some other comedic ****. Pac is afraid to fight anyone with a pulse, and he loses respect of fight fans and sports writers with every fight. People went from calling him an all time great, to now really wondering if it really IS all about how he is matched up. Manny takes the money and acts like he is surprised that his fights suck so hard. When you fight a 39 year old who hasnt won in years, and looked aweful in his last two fights (which remember he didnt win) what the **** do you expect? Arum said Shane was done after the Mayweather fight, but made the fight anyways. Manny could be the best thing in the world for Boxing if he gave a ****. But as it is, he and Arum are turning it into a ****ing joke. Squander? Understantement of the year.

If Manny wants to show his true greatness, he should be fighting the guys that will confirm his greatness if he wins like Martinez. He should be fighting young guys in their prime like Ortiz and Bradley. He may be fighting Marquez next but he's fighting Marquez at a most disadvantaged weight. Why fight Marquez at 145-147 when Manny could easily make 140?
I disagree, while Mosley might not be the best guy to fight, he's no knockoff, or at least I thought he wasn't. But now he is taking Marquez again, and it seems Marquez is fine with moving up to face the champion. And while I agree with you (even though you didn't say it) Manny is to some degree taking some, what I would consider small, advantadges. But to discredit yesterdays whole generation of welterweight, because of one man, is a disgrace. If he took on Martinez it would be one of the most awesome things in boxing, but you can't discredit him for not going up in weight, that would be absurd.

Berto or Bradly, pft... You really think either of them would stand a chance? Maybe if they both got in the ring against him, they'd last more than 3 rounds.

            stopped right there
            he KO'd prime Barrera
KO'd Terrible to avenge his loss
beat JMM on 2 close decisions in FOTY candidates
Pac cleaned up in his prime
now he's just beating up whoever's around
you know, since his 1 lone true challenge refuses to fight him

People says that he hasn't fought anyone on the same level as Cotto, and I agree, but who is there out there on the level of Cotto right now? Bradly?! Khan?! Ortiz?!

Or should he perhaps go up and face Martinez or Williams? Perhaps go all the way and face Hopkins?!
It's about time. In a year or two, new generation will create more excitement.

The author of the article is probably new to boxing or to Pacquiao. Pacquiao already made his career in the featherweights by beating ATG/HOF in Barrera, Morales and JMM. Anything after them (above Lightweight) is just a bonus.

I agree, but there's none from the younger generation who stands a chance. Every fight he takes with them will be discredited afterwards or seen as sugar on a candyfloss.

There's only 1-2 fights out there for Pacquaio and he says Martinez is too big, and the last is too much of a **** to step in. (Unless the accusations of Pacquaio not agreeing to take the blood tests is true)
