    Article: Paquiao's Prime Squandered

The media and public are on to Arums cherrypicking ways check out this article from yahoo

Manny Pacquiao is the greatest boxer of his generation, but his best years are being wasted against inferior foes.

I agree with the article. But weren't most of the media shitting on the Pac/Mosley fight when it was just made? I remember Kevin Iole, Fatman Dan Rafael, Steve Kim, and others crapping on it from all angles. Looks like Bob "the Devil" Arum got them with the hype.

In a couple of months Marquez is going to be a world beater in the media, Pac will say he may be a lightweight but he fights like a weltetweight and the media will buy it! Losing to Floyd obviosly means nothing cause pac gets more credit for beating his leftovers.

From what I've read the past few days, Floyd got more credit last year for beating Shane than Manny did on Saturday.

People really needs to get off Pacquaio's back. Right now he is fighting everyone. He isn't about to stop. Sooner or later there'll be no choice for him but to face to younger generation because he's been in there with almost anyone from his generation. People says that he hasn't fought anyone on the same level as Cotto, and I agree, but who is there out there on the level of Cotto right now? Bradly?! Khan?! Ortiz?!

Or should he perhaps go up and face Martinez or Williams? Perhaps go all the way and face Hopkins?!

But that's the problem, he isn't fighting everyone. Last year they had a poll on Pacland asking the fans who they wanted Manny to face next: they chose Marquez in a landslide decision, Berto 2nd, and Bradley 3rd. Mosley was dead last. Who did Manny choose to fight? Mosley.

If Manny wants to show his true greatness, he should be fighting the guys that will confirm his greatness if he wins like Martinez. He should be fighting young guys in their prime like Ortiz and Bradley. He may be fighting Marquez next but he's fighting Marquez at a most disadvantaged weight. Why fight Marquez at 145-147 when Manny could easily make 140?

Wetzel made valid points. Arum has been milking it and Pacquiao appears content and just doing it for monetary reasons like in his last 3 fights.

Boxing fans want to see Floyd but unfortunately Floyd can not grow a pair.
And then the proposed idea of Marquez at 145 looks like another Mayweathersque move.

As a boxing fan I would love too see him against Ortiz or Bradley or Khan. These are the fights that people would love to see.

Pacquiao and Arum deserved the criticism.

Bob Arum is probably the biggest villain in boxing today. I'd take 1 awesome fight between Pac and Martinez/Mayweather (or even pac raping kahn/bradley) rather than 10 more fights v old scared mosleys/blown up versions of marquez ...
