Marquez wants a catch-weight between 143 and 144 !!! And *****S are crying !!
WBA/WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez (51-5-1, 37 KOs) continues to ask for something that he probably won't receive in the near future. As quoted by Ricardo Lois of the examiner, Marquez appeared on ESPN’s Golpe a Golpe and said that he was willing to face Manny Pacquiao at a catch weight between 140 and 147-pounds. Marquez would like a catch-weight of 143 or 144-pounds.Comment

Hes gonna fight a tune up before and people are saying its gonna be against David Diaz or Zab Judah. There should be a clause that says if he loses that fight he loses the chance to fight Pac. I'd rather see Judah vs Pac than Peeboy.
thats what i thought, marquez said he can beat pac at any weight, but then request a catchweight, i mean come one, what TF?...that sounds like a floydie boy move to me, who said i can beat pac easily no matter if pac is using PEDs or not, then turn around and request blood testing...now demanding 100 milComment

huh? the only ones that say pac is a natural jww are the ones that wants to see him fight bradley...these are the same people that said pac should fight martinez at junior middle since pac won a juniour middleweight belt..these are the same people that said pac can still make 135
pac haters will complain about pac anything. when pac had to move up from light weight to welterweight (two weight classes north) to fight delahoya, no pac haters brought that up...no when marquez have the option to fight pac at welterweight (two weight classes north), all of a sudden this jump up in weight is a disadvantage for marquez...but yet i didnt here pac haters saying that it will be a disadvantage for pac against delahoya, regardless of the fact that delahoya had to make weight as well
then pac had to come down one weight class to fight hatton then moved back up one division to fight cotto...for pac to be moving up two weight class (for the delahoya fight), then down in weight class for hatton, then back up one weight class to fight cotto...the making of weight in 3 consective fights is much more difficult than cotto having to shed one pound from his normal official weigh insComment

actually, both weigh about the same on fight nite... i mean, if these fights were weighed on the nite of the fight, bought would be considered welterweightsComment

who u ask?
the same haters that said cotto was drained, even tho cotto said he wasnt...
the same people that said delahoya was drained, even tho delahoya said he wasnt and he was in the best shape of his life
i can see it now, if marquez beat pac at a cathweight, the "draining of fighters" does not applyComment

its not about change of heart, its all about hating on pac no matter whatComment

the paul williams comment i agree...cuz if pac beat williams, haters will say that williams was already shot after fighting martinez twice...and that pac just had some leftovers from martinez...again, no matter what the situation, pac haters will always have an excuseI really don't think the weight matters as both will show up close to the same size on fight night anyways.
I guess the catchweight is there to shut a few people up who were crying that Marquez has to go up to 147.
With that said, Marquez is one of the few people I have confidence in as far as having the willingness to fight Manny, instead of giving up and trying to survive.
Guys like Ortiz, Alexander, Berto, Judah, and others are mental midgets, and outside of Marquez, only Tim Bradley stands out as a guy willing to try and fight all 12rounds against Manny. Also Paul Williams, but Manny wouldn't get credit for thst win at this point.Comment
