I was ringside and there was a very odd fragrance in the air when McLellan quit against Benn. It definitely had echoes of last night's beef jerky to it.
Has anyone ever lost control of their bowels in the ring?

Yes, it has happened. Two that come to mind: Mark Breland applied quite a bit of body punishment to one of his very early opponents, and before long he had it running down his leg. Breland kept pasting him, the guy kept crapping down his leg. They stopped the fight between rounds, I believe. Everyone was too grossed out to continue.
It also happened to Cornelius Boza Edwards, a terrific junior-lightweight champ in the 1980's when he fought Alexis Arguello in 1980, before he won the title.Comment

Carlos Ortiz once said somthing like, "being a fighter is a very nervous thing. I had to go pee a few times. Then i was ready, get tapped and just as i was walking out, i had to use the batheroom. Ohh, man.....its a nervous feeling going into the ring...your try and see what i mean" he said somthing like at in the documentary "Latin Legends".Comment
