I am going to fight (former Pacman foe) David Diaz on July 2 and I will be the promoter of that fight. I just want to get really sharp to fight Pacquiao for the third time in November. I do not want to be rusty, I want to get myself extra sharp so I can show that I am the better fighter
    Good luck promoting that fight.

it's a tuneup, a safe fight he'll look spectacular in and shake the cobwebs off from being out half a year.

he's been chasing pac for the past year, being so close to it now it wouldn't make any sense him taking a risky fight he could lose against a Judah which could derail the pac fight. if he loses against pac, judah would still fight him in a heartbeat as he's desperate for a big name and he'll still have his LW belts.

        pretty much this.

Judah is too big of a threat and his style is all wrong for an ageing Marquez.

It would be ****** of Marquez to risk a $5Million fight with Pacquiao.

He wants an easy fight and to start promoting fights..

        i'll watch this fight..

That's exactly what's going on. David Diaz is a good style match up, will make for an entertaining fight even though its a tuneup and JMM should win. It should be at least at 140 so JMM gets used to fighting at a higher weight. Diaz will show up to win so it will be good work for JMM. If JMM can come in for the Pac fight at 142-143 he will not be at a disadvantage. The problem is the age and wear and tear, JMM will be 38 and been in war after war. I would've love to see Pac vs. JMM 3 in 09 at 140 instead Pac has gone on his hypejob whirlwind since then.

Yeah, I agree with you. Tune-up fight less risk that leads to high reward future bout with Pac. Moreover, if JMM can KO Diaz (w/c is possible) in early rounds, he can probably brag this to Pac, saying that Pac took 9rds while he (JMM) is less.

Would be funny if Diaz by the 2011 Underdog effect beat Marquez

this fight will promote itself (for the purpose it serves) - "final tuneup" before PACSMASH encounter.

Dude this is some bullshit. Rematch with Juan Diaz. And never should've fought him the first time either and fought Campbell instead. Fought Katsidis when all he did was beat a prospect. An old ass Casamayor.

People call Pacquiao a cherry picker and I think he has been taking easy fights too. But JMM is just as bad which is why he'll never be greater than Morales or Barrera was because all he does is ride Pacquiao's **** for the notoriety and take easy fights to bide time.
