I think that was a side-effect of trying to be too politically correct and "sweet" for the cameras. Ortiz didn't quit, he came back and answered the critics. I wish he'd drop that phony Oscar "accent" though.

he really didnt answer the critics. berto let otiz control the pace of the fight. thats like saying cotto answered the critics about the marg fight by fighting a guy he could bully. u dont answer the critics til u either beat the guy who beat u or beat a guy who fights like the guy who beat u. and ortiz didnt do that.
