For a tuneup it is fine as long he fights Pacman in Nov - McCloskey would be another option as a southpaw

This is a good tune up fight and it positions him self for a match against robert guerrero, urbano antillon, humberto soto at lightweight... He can also go to Jr. Welterweight and find very good opponents there.

I was expecting a mid-tier opponent. Marquez hasn't fought since last November, so this is a good tuneup to shake off some ring rust. The only fight that matters for him is this October-November with Manny so why risk getting hurt?
