He had audiences of 10 million on ITV but chose to go to Sky PPV early in his career with fights that shouldn't be on PPV. Khan might alsways suffer some downside from racists in the uk,but he as an olympic medalist is still very popular,but also his family doing his business and doing it poorly will affect his populairty.

Haye is very popular,as a freindly down to earth heavyweight who is on all the talk shows and all over tv all the time,his popularity is good,could be as good as hattons if he beats one klitschko then the other then fights in the US.

Wayne Rooney isnt labelled as an English hero. And Ashley Cole gets praised just as much as a footballer as Rooney.
