Hopefully this is true. It certainly makes sense although I still think Ortiz is a little green for a Mayweather fight, nobody in the sport can turn down that sort of opportunity if it is presented to them.

I feel the same way about it this potential matchup.

Ortiz can be hit, but brings pretty good speed, stamina and buckets of offense. Should be alot of fun to watch.

It probably wouldn't be a career crippling loss for Ortiz at this point, nor is it likely he'll suffer a damaging beating and who knows? It's boxing. Anything can happen.

              Bring it on.

Sounds good. Hope it comes off. The Manny fight has to happen afterwards.

The only two fights that should be on mayweathers mind are pac and martinez. Ortiz is just an overrated american bum, thats why he chose him.

Meh...good tune-up. It's better than fighting Márquez, though.

Ortiz is nowhere near as good as Márquez, but he's decent, has a southpaw stance, brings speed, power, and youth.

......I'd still bet Mayweather to tag Ortiz over and over again.

Ortiz showed resiliency in the last fight and got past Berto in an upset, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. This is NOT the guy that's going to beat Mayweather.

The rumors are like pieces of a puzzle falling perfectly into place, though.

September (Mexican holiday), Mexican opponent who can punch, southpaw stance has a measure to see how Mayweather would (more or less) do against Pacquiao...

It's a good choice for an opponent.
