Oh absolutely. But to me Berto is just such a sharp puncher where Lopez is sloppy, has a low boxing IQ, and has nothing to fall back on if he can't hurt his opponent. His jab is non existent.....what Lopez has is a serious set of balls, but that's not enough to make him that good of a fighter to me.

And this isn't based on Salido...I've been saying this for a while, I picked Marquez to beat him.

Salido. Lopez is very promising until Salido exposed him.

He was still more accomplished, beat much better guys and was the #1 i the division. Not the mention Salido was a huge underdog

Also, Berto knows how to survive at least. To me, he would have gotten out of trouble if he was in Juanma's position against Salido. Still, Berto's left hand almost serves no purpose. My pick is more inspired by resume, skill plays a part too, no doubt.

A fair point for sure.....I just personally never thought much of him. I thought Ortiz's win was bigger...just my opinion cause of how I feel about Lopez.

Yea it doesn't in terms of impact. Against Ortiz he actually countered with some nice left hooks over Ortiz's pawing jab, but it's just not an impact punch for him, he doesn't turn it over at all.

You're right, they both still need a ton of work, but I still think in terms of ability that Berto is the superior fighter.

But you guys are definitely right that in terms of accomplishments, Lopez has a better resume.

i say ortiz because we all knew jml had a suspect chin and it was just a matter of time before someone would expose him. The thing with berto is that we knew is record was lame but we didnt know how he would react against a real challenge
