froch and bute were joe's mandatories. ward and dirrell were almost there as well. it's weird how he was willing to face the one dimensional plodders but not these other guys. coincidence!

joe calzaghe could have fought carl froch and lucian Bute if he kept boxing but you must realize joe calzaghe beat mikkel kessler who beat froch and buy the end of the year kessler is going to give bute his frist L

Froch was never really Joe's mandatory. Froch became mandatory for the WBC 168 title in May 08. He was due to fight Inkin on the same card as Bradley/Witter to decide who would be the No.1 Inkin pulled out for the second time so the WBC made Froch their No.1.

However Joe had already moved up to 175 and had fought Hopkins the previous month. He was done at 168 - and he was practically done with boxing.

Bute was NEVER Joe's mandatory for the IBF - Stieglitz was. HBO didn't want that fight.

Those 'one dimensional plodders' had world titles. Froch and the others were a little too late.

And Calzaghe beat Hopkins, who beat Pavlik, so that means Calzaghe is off the hook for blatantly ducking Kelly Pavlik.

I can say Jones beat an undefeated Julio Cesar Gonzalez, and Gonzalez went on to beat Dariusz and Glen[he really did]...So that gives Jones a pass to never have fought Dariousz, and he didn't have to fight Johnson, because he had already beaten a guy who went on to beat both of them. So his win over Gonzalez, indirectly gave him wins over Dariousz and Glen.

But i'm not that type of fan, how can you talk like that with a straight face?

"Calzaghe beat Kessler who beat Froch and will beat Bute, Dawson, Johnson and everybody else Calzaghe ducked so that makes Calzaghe the greatest fighter of all time".

Oh wait, Kessler beat Froch, who beat Pascal, who beat Diaconu 2x and Dawson, so that means Calzaghe is better than Froch, Pascal, Dawson, and Diaconu.
